Heres my dilema. Jeep tracks fine and smooth on surface streets but as soon as I hit the highway and break 55mph the steering wheel starts to shimmy and I get an all over vibration that makes the whole truck feel like its going to fall apart. Also here is my setup: 99 xj 3in coils up front add-a-leaf in the rear with a block. BDS shocks and steering stabalizer...about three years old. Thanks

Are you using the stock track bar, stock upper and lower control arms with the factory rubber bushings?

The whole front end is stock except for the coils.

That may be your problem.
I assume you checked the bolts and made sure they are all tight.
98 did the same thing with the same front set-up.
Little lift and stock arms.
Let me see if I could find one of my old posts.

No luck finding my post on my 98 shimmy.
Here is the deal,
I had the alignment done and tires balanced,
that didnt work,
did a new trackbar,
that didnt work,
did tierod/draglink and another alignment,
that didnt work,
I replaced the steering shock,
that didnt work,
got different tires,
that didnt work,
REPLACED stock lowers with RE's,
Now I was getting somewhere :D
that cut the Shimmy an half and moved it from 52 MPH to 75MPH.
I then replaced my upper control arms with RE's and also replaced the UCA bushing at the axle end. By-By shimmy :D
My stock rubber bushings get soft and crack and end up alowing to much give. now my 98XJ with 3.5" and 31's rides smooth again. :)

Im planing on upgrading to to a long arm kit by the end of the year so I dont really want to invest in new control arms right now. Do you think new bushings would be a good temporary solution?

That would be a good start.
I would remove one CA at a time and look closely at the bushings.
Then go from there.

Any good tricks to removing the control arms? I had to unbolt the end of one on the axle side to install my springs and it was a battle to get the holes to line up again to insert the bolt. Any helpful tips?
