Not sure if this is the right place to put this but it does pertain to tube bending and that is fabrication so here it goes (if not please move). I few months back I came across a thread of offroadfab.net where somebody made an Arduino controlled DRO (digital readout) for their tube bender and it got me thinking. Over the past few months I have tinkered, fought, and got my own version "kind of" working. In the end I would like to make my own PCB shield for the uno and put everything in a nice box.

What works:

LCD
LED indicators
Pressure Switch and Reset Button w/LED
Rotary Encoder
Auto shutoff solenoid

What doesn't work:

Keypad - for entering intended bend angle. Right now this is doing weird things and I don't know what or how to fix.

Below is a short video of everything as it sits today. If anybody is interested I would be more than willing to share my eagle files, Arduino code, etc.

nifty. my "dro" was always the length of the ram. Attach a tape measure to it so that it pulls itself out when the ram extends. Then you can measure off the front of the ram for your "length". Makes repeating exact bends and angles very easy.

made some changes and got things working a lot better than I did before. Now that the keypad is working good, I should be able to start re-adding the "pressure switch", zero button and reset button. Once I get everything up and running I will post another video. I also plan to share eagle files, the arduino code and a BOM so that anyone should be able to duplicate/modify to their own needs.
