I've been helping the BMWA ( Bradshaw Mountian Wildlife Association) build a perimeter fence around their complex for a few weeks now. We are almost done with the fence and will be finishing as much as possible on 8/7. The BMWA owns a beautiful area just west of Bumble Bee. It's a great place to visit on the way through the Crown King, Bumble Bee area.
They currently have a number of animals including:
Bobcat
Fox
Deer
Raccoon
Horse
Burro
Dog
Wolf
Pig
Cat
Iguana
Skunk
Tortoise
BMWA was founded in 1995 as a non-profit corp dedicated to the rescue and rehab of injured, orphaned, and abused wildlife. We are licensed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Rescue activities are initiated after receiving notice from the GNF, local police, fire, or from concerned citizens. We respond to calls 7 days a week.
As wildlife rehabilitators, or primary and ultimate goal is to release wildlife back to their natural environments. At times, however, this may not be possible due to the nature of the injury or other determining factors. Our job in these situations is to give that animal as comfortable a life as possible. Some of these animals become ambassadors for their species and become part of our educational programs.
PROGRAMS
We offer several types of educational programs. Through our rehabilitation efforts. We are able to help individual animals, but through education we can help all animals by giving people the experience to engage them in the natural world.
Programs can be at BMWA or we can come to YOU!
All programs are custom designed based on the age, size, and location of the audience.
Topics include:
Arizona Animals
Creepy Critters
Career Talks
Animal interactions
Endangered species
