As often as Jeeps get stolen I advise everyone to add one of these to your Jeep or similar device.

SPOT Trace Anti-Theft Tracking Device (http://www.amazon.com/Trace-Anti-Theft-Tracking-Device-Black/dp/B00GQ8WW4M/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1455743683&sr=8-2&keywords=spot+gps+tracker)

Yikes, I have the exact same model, with a long arm and I worry about theft myself. Did you have any security devices?

RECOVERED!! DPS pulled the guy over on the way to Maricopa. The jeep was not stripped everything still there. the ignition is destroyed(the guy was using a house key, not a dead give away or anything) and the locking gas door ripped off. He lost his trail tools, but nothing valuable. All in all I would say my friend was very lucky. I would say he has become very interested in anti-theft and recovery devices :)
Thanks again to everyone who was keeping and eye out and HUGE props to DPS.

He was headed strait down to the trails behind cops that lead strait into Mexico I'm guessing.
