I would tell this person nothing.

This is indeed a peculiar thread. Bugger's last post on the forum was in March of last year, which is well after the OP established their user account. Easy to go find the post if you look. It was not an upbeat post. I'd like to know what the motivation for this thread is.

Ok everybody, here's the deal!
I'm gonna say this is a ligit situation.
His name is Jeff and without giving to much personal detail .....
Tim(bugger) died of a heart attack this past summer and. His brother is just searching for memories in the form of vids or pics of Tim to pass on to his son! I'll except those pics and vids or even links to pass on to Jeff next week as he travels thru phoenix for work.
Shortbus and I had a lengthy conversation about Tim and it seems he was the last one to do some serious wheeling with Tim.
Thx for the info and chat MR shortbus.
I kinda snooped my way around with Q's to see if it was ligit and I've come to the conclusion IN MY OPINION. That he is his brother!
So with that being said,,,,,

We've lost a member here in VJC and I'll ask all to say a prayer for the family!

on behalf of all the AZVJC FAMILY
RIP TIM!
God bless the family.

Thank you all...and thank you for the pictures!!!
Just to let you know I have the jeep back here at home near ST. Louis MO along with most all of his stuff. He was cremated in AZ and we brought him back here. He is buried at Jefferson National Cemetery overlooking the Mississippi River and farther out, his home town. His son lives in Philly and I m trying to gather as many pix and videos as I can for him to remember his dad. Sorry to be a little strange about the earlier post but I really didn't know how to approach anybody about this issue and knew most would be a little skeptical.
If you would please send anything you have to 1explorer at charter dot net.
If you have anything at all it will really mean a lot to us and his son if you would share!

I never met him and I don't have any pictures, but he posted what I would call my all time favorite post on this forum and I saved it.

Ya know why that is? I've lived East and West. Generally speaking,

West siders: Blue collar workin folk, know how to unwind, not too worked up about much, laid back

East siders: Holier than thou, wrapped around the axle on just about anything they can't control, panties in a twist almost to a point to where they have to be right about everything.

Ask around, look around, you'll see a trend, I along with others have made comment to this observation. :laugh2:

This all holds true until you hit AJ, then

Very sad. Prayers for the family.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. I think it is a great thing that you are gathering wheeling pictures for his son to remember him by.

I am not sure how old is son is, but if at some point you and his son are in Phoenix and interested in a day out on the trail to experience what Tim enjoyed doing, we would be glad to take you guys out on a trail run with a group of the VJC guys. Being a father of a 2 year old, if something were to happen to me, I would like someone to show my son what I was into if he wasn't old enough have memories of wheeling with me. Pretty much anyone on this thread could put something together, so let us know.

I may have pics also, will look later today. I only wheeled with him one time. :(

He was a blast to wheel with! Always talking and joking, I would hear a noise, thinking it was a desert animal, but it was Tim behind me talking smack! :)

I haven't found any pictures yet, but will keep looking. One of the runs I remember with him was Elvis. He was determined he was going to make the Up and Over, even with a lake underneath it. He hit the gas, and broke a bunch of stuff. And smiled. :-)

What a shame about Tim. Really surprising to hear this since he was in pretty good shape. It's nice that he can be memorialized a bit here. I also liked what he was doing with his Jeep build. 38" tires with 4 inches of lift. I think he even had 40's on it at one time.

Here’s a video of him playing in a parking lot. Fun stuff:

Here’s a shot of his arrival at the run on the day ToyzukiJohn passed.

No, I live in the STL Metro area but travel to Safford/Morenci to work at the copper mines quite often (once a month or so). Usually fly into Phoenix and head straight East...almost to the New Mexico State line.

I know the Safford/Morenci/Clifton/Alpine area probably better than most here. Too bad you fly in. The Black Hills Back Country Byway has some pretty cool roads and trails hidden in it, not a single one suited for a rental car though.

If anyone cares to, if you look at the header on JKOwners.com, you will see Tim's (mine now) Jeep. It is at the top header above the Insurance tab. Someone on this site took that picture and I want to thank them. I have put new tires on it now and will continue to use it as he would want someone to...
