My stock drivers seat was busted so I picked up some Renegade seats for what I thought was a good price.
It took 4 weeks  to get em but oh well there here.

The Renegade seats have 4 mounting tabs on the bottom with a complete steel tube frame design.
I dug thru the steel scrap bin and found some 1x1x.120 square stock and built a simple frame that mounts to the factory slider.

The trick with the XJ is to get the standard width seat, or be prepared for a real PITA. And also mount them as low as you can. the tranny hump will let you go only so low.

So far, So good.
I think they are comfortable alog with others that sat in em.
I'm 6' and about 240  alright, 247 now, and they fit well.

I'll post another pic when I get the other side in. ;)

I justed TACKed the piece in the top of the pic, thats where the brace for the rear of the seat WILL be. I just used the bar, in the back, for a temp. spacer. It will have to be removed or yer butt will hit it ;)

FYI,

I mounted my seats DEAD CENTER and they touch the center-console.
My fix has a rag :D

Based on the space, I could have offset the seats a 1/2" toward the door. They would then be less likely to rub the console.

Oh well, beggers cant be choosers...
