Ran down to Crown King and back on the Senator Hwy for something to do today and saw several of these. With water getting scarce they and other wildlife are congregating near the remaining puddles along the creeks.

Yes, most of us take water for granted. Just go to the kitchen and get some. This lack of rainfall is a double edged sword, life needs the water in so many ways, but then again with fire season coming, :( well, how bad do we need it now?
Thanks for sharing that pic.. The deer are beauties. ;)

No one can make up their mind. We don't get rain and everythings dry, so we have bad fires. We get rain, everything grows, dries out anyways, and mid summer and we get fuelled fires. So, the news needs to quit carrying on about it and just say, were gonna get fires no matter what. AND I'll bet you, the first day it does rain, the people on the news will be griping about the gloomy weather saying that can't wait for it to be over and the sun to come back...

Being that I was born and raised here, I have seen dry winters, and I have not so dry winters. I have also studied the desert we live in and much of the grasses are not native to here. The cacti and desert trees dont hold up well to the fire if even at all. Each year the grasses re-grow faster than wild fire. This desert as we see it doesnt stand a chance over a time line.
Trust me, on the other hand, I take what I could get.
Nature will sort out the rest.
