As I am cruising down the roads a few days ago about 4pm I notice that the local temp is running about 121 degrees and the ole ugly pre-detonation is raising its ugly head again. Since taking out the DC headlight Trim Rings engine temp has stayed dead on at 210 instead of creeping up past that mark. But the hot asphalt pavement and stop ‘n go driving has produced more hot air than a 3 way conversation with John Kerry, Owl Hore and Billy Klinton. I’m thinking to myself that it might be time to invest in a decent ram air set up. So I stop by my local 4x4 accessory store and shop around. I spy the FirePower RamAir set up and grab it like its a snow cone on a day like today. I head home driving like a pizza driver for the Saprano’s. I let the Jeep cool for a while and I install the answer to the pre-detonation problems that I and many other have suffered like the all to often bad hang-over.
Components Required
FirePower RamAir
3 Zip ties from your tool box
Pair of side cutters to cut excess of zip ties
20 minutes to install
Insert the FirePower RamAir between the engine and the inner fender well by putting a slight curve in the intake end of the FirePower RamAir. You might want to use your hands to form the intake end into a slight oval. Continue slipping the FirePower RamAir tube down till it just begins to slip under the radiator. Adjust the outlet end in the engine bay to the location of your engine air filter.
Zip tie thru the small hole in the bottom of the fan shroud, you will be able to see this from under the Jeep. Put another zip tie thru the tab with hole at the base of the engine block. Find a suitable location at the outlet end of the FirePower RamAir for another zip tie to hold it in place.
Enjoy and drive it like its a rental car.
