There's a new BJ's Brewery open/opening-soon on Superstition Springs Rd (just up the street from the Hooters of last night's M&G).

Does anyone know if the place is open yet or not? I can swing by after work later this week and check it out.

So...if there is going to be one Monday the 18th then the one for Friday the 15th under "Posted Runs and Trip Reports" is unneccesary. Or maybe we should schedule one for Tuesday the 19th also. Or Thursday the 21st??

Take care,

S

Another suggested location......... The Monestary at Falcon Field. Great hamburgers. You cook them yourself! Also dog friendly if you wanna take the furry friend. Outdoor vollyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, pool, etc....
Approximately McKellips and Greenfield just off of the 202. :D

Oh sure my thread wasn't good enough you all had to go start your own thread. Sure, fine, I'll just go back over here in my box... :D

The Monastary sounds cool. I'm up for what ever just let me know the when and where.

That's right around the corner from the Forestry Dept. Mesa District office, so if you start early enough (unsure what time they close), folks can stop in for their free Tonto Natl Forest OHV permits, then head over to the Monestary.

That's not even the original Monestary Mike. It used to be at 48th St and Indian School for years and years til they lost their lease. I used to go there and party with my teachers from Arcadia High School many moons ago......

So it sounds like it's the Monestary Monday night 7/18. Now we need to decide what time........ suggestions????????

Would you mind if I drove the dodge? Sence my scout is broke again? I live up the road from the rangers station.

To tell the truth...happy hour time would work best for me. Those in need could hit the forestry building then swing over to the Monestary. So how about meeting around 5 - 5:30???

Oh, and while this place is named the Monestary and is the same in spirit...it's all brand new. So a little different than the old location(s) downtown. Still cool though!

They serve wine, beer, frozen margarittas, and komakozze shots(sp), and I think mud slides.

Wine, beer, and some frozen foo foo drinks, but no hard stuff. All the food is cook your own - burgers, chicken breast, steaks, etc.

and yes, the Dodge is ok. We just want people to get together for fun

5 - 5:30 sounds good for a start time for me. I'll probably stay late enough for the people that will arrive later too.

Sounds great...though NOW a work trip that had been scheduled for this Friday has been postponed until Monday afternoon. Though nothing's set in stone, I might miss this M&G, too. :(

Sounds like a deal. I'll get there between 5 & 5:30

The Monestary is on McKellips east of Greenfield. They are on the northeast corner of the intersection with the traffic light that is the entrance to Falcon Field. Very easy to find.

Hope you eastsiders have a good time!! :D

FYI, there's also a Monestary on the northwest side. It's next to the Peoria Sports Complex which is on 83rd Ave just south of Bell Road.

Not to many members showed up but had a great time anyways. It's always great to put faces with the names on here. Wayne thanks for the suggestion of the Monastary very close to home and the beer is pretty cheap. Would be a great place to hang out when it gets cooler too.
Plenty to do out side and inside. I was surprised you didn't set it up for July 23rd. though. I seen the signs all over for the wet t-shirt contest.
It reallly is a nice place with lots of thing to do... pool, fooz ball, darts inside and volley ball, horse shoes, ping pong out side. and a sand box for the little ones...

It was a great time and I had fun meeting you all that were there for the first time. I will try and get some dates for a trip out east of town. I have some drive shaft issues to take care of first and then its a go. but anyway it was fun and hope to see you all on the trails soon.
