JUST LIKE A MAN TO TELL YOU HE WILL MEET YOU SOMEWHERE

LOL, no skin off my back if I don't go. I thought I had posted that while he was still here. Thanks for pointing out though that I didn't post the location the first time when there was a choice of two.

Oh well. Guess I'll take a walk to Wendy's or something and save the bulk of the M&G stuff for later in the week. :D It'd take me 45 minutes or so to get down there so if I don't see anything by 6:30 I'll just have to meet up the next time. :)

:D :) In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be
transported by
ship
and it was also before commercial fertilizer's
invention, so large
shipments of manure were common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a
lot less than
when
wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only
became heavier, but
the
process of fermentation began again, of which a
by-product is methane
gas.

As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you
can see what could
(and
did) happen. Methane began to build up below decks
and the first time
someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it
was determined
just
what was happening.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped
with the term
"Ship
High In Transit" on them which meant for the sailors
to stow it high
enough off the lower decks so that any water that
came into the hold
would
not touch this volatile cargo and start the production
of methane.

Thus evolved the term "S.H.I.T." (Ship High In
Transport) which has
come
down through the centuries and is in use to this very
day.

You probably did not know the true history of this
word. Neither did I!!!!!!!!

I thought it was a fishing term

Are there 2 M&G's tonight or what?!?!?

Supposed to be a deal at Hooters near Power & Superstition Springs tonight as well (though no time is posted that I can find). These two locations really aren't all that far apart.

Or are you guys/gals pub crawling from one to the next? :D

I'll try to make it (to one of them!)...I'm only a mile from Hooters! :D :D

Ahhh, shoot, man...I dunno. The clock for the BBS is so screwed up for me I don't when the posts were actually made! It says you made your last post at 10:18PM tonight!!!

Well, since nobody else has said anything, I'll also assume the "other" M&G was last night at Applebee's (Higley/Brown). If I can get out of the house tonight, I'll meet you at Hooters.

Hooters are good...I mean IS good!

If anyone wants to try again for next Monday, 7/18, I could make it that night, and that may give everyone else enough time to make plans. Anyone up for it?
