View Full Version : White Tanks
Has anyone had any problems heading to the white tanks with all of the new houses being built over on Watson?

A bunch of us went out there two Sundays ago. We had no problems. We went in off of Watson RD.

Just ran Appetizer, Tax and Firebird on the 4th. I came in off of Watson and had no problems. I stayed most of the day hiking and wheeling. I made it a point to look for closer or state trust land signs and found none. I did have a few bullets go flying by me due to an idiot that does not know what a backstop is. I follwed the main road all the way out to Sun Valley parkway when i left just to see how long it would take to come in that way. It took forever. I hope that we don't end up having to come in that way. Hope this helps. Cya

I was out there Saturday, same thing no-problems. With the house's only about 1/4 mile from Appetizer, that trail may not be around much longer.

I went out there Monday night (the 4th). Lots of people out playing, and did not see any cops sittin' around. That was off Watson Rd. Can't speak for Miller.

There are some news signs along the dirt road that connects Miller and Watson road that state it is closed. Used to say closed and required a STL permit, now says closed. If you go in through Watson Rd you will not encounter any of the signs and it is open, at least at last checked with the STLD.
I hope everyone that has expressed concern will be willing to step up when the dust issue comes up and they try to close it.
Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, it looks as though Appetizer is going to become so full of trash we will not be able to run it. I have been thinking about taking some freinds out there to help clean the place up. Its amazing to see how many whashing machines and refrigerators show up down in that wash. It really steams me. Its starting to look like miller road(north).

I hear there are areas off of Miller that are closed. I would caution anyone to not test the "closed" area restriction. Not only does it make us look bad as a group but it also might get you arrested/fined.
I am willing to bet that the closures on miller are due to these @#$&%* that dont pick up their trash when they finish shooting. Maybe im wrong. I dont know. I do know the place looks like a dump though.
I know quite a few members that personally helped fill 6 large dumpsters over the last few years cleaning that area up, in August even !!!
Rally the troops and get a clean-up going.. Get ahold of state trust dept and BLM tell em you wanna do a clean up.. They'll provide the dumpsters and the trash bags.. We used to go through Tammy Pike but I'm not sure she is still with the State Trust department anymore..
