I really like the look of the newer seats, especally how they feel on the back. I think they are a lot better then the older seats.
Does anyone know if they bolt right into the existing seat brackets? If so, anyone want the older style seats (from a 99) in exchange for the newer ones. :D

The brackets are different as of '03 (or '04?--can't remember).
Anyway, "comfortable" is not a word I would ever apply to the backseat of any TJ. Besides, the new seat latches last about 5 minutes--one of the places DC chose to skimp to save a few $. Half of our '04's don't roll forward anymore--cheap little plastic buttons in the mechanism.

Yep, if you get the brackets with them, they just bolt in. Sold my '03 Rubicon seats to a guy with a '97 TJ, he didn't have any problems...

So as long as I get the mounting hardware with the seat, then I'm good to go. Alrighty then. :D

Nina, are you talking about the REAR SEAT ?
I think Danzer is talking about the FRONT seats and the way they feel on her lower/upper back ?
I dont think Danzer uses her rear seat :D DOH

Jamie,
Just remember that the 03'+ seats sit about 1" lower then previous years. There a few people that make and sell some seat risers. It's not a big deal for the passenger side, but it does make a difference on the driver side. Before I put in my "seat lift kit" I couldn't see the outer fenders, now I can. But I guess it doesn't help that I am short :o

Oops--blonde moment--"how they feel on my back" not how the back seat feels. <blush> :o At least there were no unsavory comments about backseats... :D

I do know that the '03 is approx 1.5 inches lower than previous. I don't know if it is the bracket or they changed the tub. I had to get seat spacers to see over the dash.

I guess I could say something like "I'd like to go for a ride with Nena", but I wouldn't say anything like that
