That does suck you don't come home on the weekends...especially the holiday weekend.

Yeah, I'm an old fart (like you guys) ;)

I'm sitting in a Doubletree in Dallas right now with 1 week to go. C'mon Friday.

On the bright side, I got to see my mom and 4 sisters (it'd been 5 years) while in Austin, and I'll be seeing my brother and meeting his wife and new baby (born last night) later today. Pretty good timing :)

Thanks for the kind words.

Really.... I am not even answering the phone this weekend, for fear of getting called in, and it's not my birthday. OMG and Dallas to boot, your bosses must really hate you ;) .

BTW - I am still looking for a "good" job if someone knows of a good company hiring Mechanical Engineers.

James,
What type of work are you looking for? You do know that "young" engineers rarely get fun stuff. But then again, it's what you make of the work you're doing and how enthusiastic you are about your choice of careers.

WHOA there desert breath! When you say Dallas I pay attention, when you say Texas I stand up and put my hand over my heart. I am a Dallas boy, SMU and UT grad. Texas is spoken and referenced in the Bible in many places; "promised land" and the "land of milk and honey" just to name a couple.

Now don't get me wrong on the "Valley of the Sun", love it here and love the heat. But Texas is where my heart is.

Cowboy :D

Don, you must've missed my other posts where I mentioned what a God foresaken craphole this place is :D If it weren't for IBM paying me to be here, you'd never catch me in this place. But, as with any place, it's home to those born and raised there. I'm from the east coast and it's 'home' to me. I love it there but I'm certain most folks out west consider it a God foresaken craphole too :D

...

Yeah, Sodum & Gamora (sp?) was mentioned in the Bible too, that doesn't mean I want to go there. j/k

Dallas, the only place where I have been where I was sweating one minute and 20 minutes later it was cold enough to snow. Where I had to join a 'club' to get a drink. Where the roads are so rough you feel like you are in a horse drawn carriage all the time. ... .
Huston, the only place I have been where the car AC blows fog for 2 minutes before actually cooling. Where when you walk outside, on a hot day, to inside your pants feel like they are on fire. The only place I have had to use the defogger in the 'summer' time and it wasn't raining.

and no, I am not partial to AZ, but, Texas?
