They do help and there is a web site for grand cherokees that has more info on it. I think the site is NAGCA. And if you're interested I have a set that are brand new that I bought before I sold my grand that I will sell if you want. They were $48 apiece plus shipping so they cost me $114 that I'll sell for $100. I'm thinking of putting them on my Rubicon. I've seen them on TJ's and they look good and help but I'm have a hard time cutting my new Jeep. Drop me a pm if interested. :D

Any time you can get more air OUT, means your radiator can let more air THROUGH. And you should be able to run cooler, and lower your under hood temps!

I have always thought some Old school "cut" louvers would look and work great on a Jeep :D

That's basicaaly what these are. They look good but I just can't bring myself to cut my new(to me that is) Rubi. Maybe after I get some trail damage I could. :D

Are yours the same or different since you paid $114 and on the OMAN site they are:
Part Numbers and Costs
#10225885 - Left Side Louver - $27.23 US
#10230097 - Left Side Drip Pan - $4.56 US

#10225886 - Right Side Louver - $27.23 US
#10230098 - Right Side Drip Pan - $4.56 US

If you are unable to find these parts in Oman, I'm sure other Louvers could be used, but you could obtain the parts from this website: http://www.parts.com - just enter the part numbers you need.

They are the same ones. If you got to parts.com and put in the part # they are $48.34 apiece plus shipping. The total came to $114 delivered :D

PS if you have any other questions give me a call 602-315-9061
Thanks Frank Jones :D

If you want to see what they look like on a Grand go to jeepsunlimited.com and under the Grand Cherokee section there is an article about putting a snorkle on a grand and they also have the hood vents. It is a black ZJ and the vents are painted red. You can get a good feal of how they look. Also the 5.9 ZJ also came with these stock so you couls look at one of those also. :D

Yea the 5.9 on the Grand had them, they look good. I think I may spring for a set of these to keep my engine compartment a little cooler. I'll do a write up on it when I get them...

Don,

Because I know you enjoy reading tech stuff, here is a link you should find very interesting. It contains more info about putting hood vents on a TJ than you ever could imagaine! ;)

Stu,
That's the same writeup that I put a link to in a earlier post by oman 4x4.
It does show that it helps and it even looks pretty good in my opinion.
And it's a WHOLE lot cheaper than a heat reduction hood by AEV.
