Many of you have had the privilege to have known this gentleman. He has accompanied me in my CK group the past several years. His son just reported his passing on FB.

This breaks my heart. He was a good friend of us here over at LetzRoll. We were even talking about bringing him with us to KOH this year since he loved watching and talking about it.

He was just here Monday AM.

For those that dont know... He had awesome stories of some cool adventures. He was very into making walking sticks. He made me one just for KOH this next year. He also made me a fun beating stick that I could keep in my truck for my south of the border adventures (he spent some time down there as well)

He always had a cow bell on the back of his jeep that would drive us nuts when we worked on it :)

This is sad to hear. I just met Jim and son at the M&G, we were among the first few to show up, and talked for quite a while, showing me the in's n out's of his rig(including the cowbell). Gave me a lot of insight in short period of time. My condolences to the family.

Condolences to family and friends. Life is so short and can be gone in an instant.

Now I can see the picture - saw him Saturday and wheeled with him before. So sad. Super nice gentleman.

Jim was one of the first members I met on my first run. He let me sit in the passenger seat to see how the waterfall at box canyon should be run before I tried it myself.
I'm glad I was able to see him at the m&g on Sat. I will miss him on future runs, he was always supportive of us newbs.

Jason wanted me to repost his post from the Facebook VJC page:

Again, thank you all for your support, I'm sorry I didn't get to personally talk to everyone yesterday. We briefly discussed a run, but I expressed I'd rather plan because of below. I bought this Willys wagon literally the day he died--he always wanted a Willys wagon and we were going to build it together. It will be a tribute to him and I'd love to do the CK run in this with my boys, just need some time this winter to build it.
