How about the YJ crowd? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Mike - does this package apply to YJ's with the vac disco? If so, it sounds like you keep the stubby axle between pumpkin and disco on pass side.

I just dropped some coin on the jeep earlier this week, but that's an awesome deal for new axles. Cheaper than new, stock-grade YJ replacements!

I've been telling myself that my 18yr old front axles/u-joints have work-hardened themselves, and kept from breaking during my abuse (so far...knock on wood!), but it's probably time to retire them to "spare duty".

These shafts aren't for Vac disco axles.. Unless you want to eliminate the Disco w/ a kit..

Also CJ orders need to be specific, Axle, year and wide track or narrow track.

All Non Disco D30 XJ, ZJ, YJ, TJ will accept this setup.
If you have ABS the tone rings can be pressed onto the new shafts.
The tone rings do not come with this setup.

3 orders are paid so far.. Get in now before this offer closes...

Take care

Thanks, Dave...I figured that would be Option B.

Mark me tentative - leaning towards "yes". Need to confirm with the Finance Department in the AM (when she wakes up).

So what's the deal? Is it ONLY/SPECIFICALLY groups of 4? Or groups of AT LEAST 4?

Tom, we need ATLEAST 4 for it. So the more the merrier!

Hello Mike,

Does this make the D30 as strong as a D44? Can I still use all the other components that I currently have in a 2001 TJ, ie, gears, Trutrac, disc brakes, etc ?

Best regards,

Mike

jeepin_in_az

It will be very close in strength to a Dana 44, but not exact.

These are replacement shafts, not "Super 30" shafts, so yes, all of your existing gears, carriers will still fit.

Mike/Dave -

I'll do it. How can I get payment to you? Paypal?

What's the timing on all this?

Thanks,
Tom

Tom,

Can you drop a check made out to Dave O'Boyle in the mail to our PO Box?

We are looking into a axle disconnect block also...stay tuned you square's! :D

I would rather avoid Paypal because of the 3.3% fee....

Thanks!

Yeah...I can do that. Will get it in the mail tomorrow.

Was tempted to wait until you can look into the true YJ version (vac disco), but I guess this will give me further incentive to eliminate that contraption from the vehicle. Although, withthe arrival of the new axles, I'll have two sets of spare YJ axle assemblies. Guess the shift collar and fork will go in the tool bag!

Matt,

We do not need 3 more CJ's to order. Yours can be included, but the price will be a little more.

Ok, CJ price is $x30 out the door.

Ok, CJ price is $370 out the door.

Say what!?! My narrowtrack axles are shorter and use less steel! What makes them more?

When are you placing your order?

Ya, but they consider it an antique...:D

Not sure when the order will be placed, possibly next week.

That's funny, but I was really curious what makes them more expensive. It's still a good deal - just curious of the reasoning behind the cost.

I'll let you know if I can swing it or not. If you don't hear from me, order without me and I'll wait until the next round when I've had more time to prepare/round up los change ;)

That is a fair question...I will ask why they are more expensive.

Good morning Mike,

Current plan is to buy the ECTED in early June, which is the last major component that I need for the 8.8 conversion; so I will need the Chrom-molly shafts as soon as you can get them.

Best regards,

Mike

Mike,

What's in that kit? Was thinking I only needed a seal for the diff housing and a flat plate to cover the vac motor/shift fork area. Check will go out on Monday, errr Tuesday (holiday). So let me know, and I can add the $30 to the total amount.

Thx,
Tom

ps. Sounds like a wrenching party will be in order for all us new axle owners!

That is exactly what is in the kit, a seal and a cover plate! I have never priced the kits out so I am not sure what they cost. I pretty much give it at cost since you are buying the shafts, because I thought it was a little high for the seal and plate....

Thanks, Mike. I'll cut the check to include the cost of the kit. Will get me everything I need all at once. Sometimes the saved the time is worth a couple extra bucks!

Did you get the check? If so, when will you receive the Chrom-molly shafts?

And after you receive them, do I pick them up or are you delivering or are we meeting somewhere, etc, etc?

Dave,

If you're checking in, just post up when/if the snap rings arrive today. I can either swing by in the evening tonight or tomorrow, or have the wife drop by after work, about 4:15 - 4:30PM (she's only a couple miles from your place).

I remember the general location, but will need the exact address/directions again.

Thanks,
Tom

Is this something that is recommended for a D30 with lockers? What are the benefits to having this? I'm about to put an Ox on the front and regear...is this something that should be done at the same time and would it be beneficial?
Thanks...I may be interested...how soon can you get it?
OOPs, I did't realize this thread is so old..how much is it now?

We are working a deal now with Alloy USA shafts instead of Yukon. They will be slightly more, but close to this price.

Matt - I will get you pricing.

Karen - Yes, very good with a D30 and lockers. Benefits are stonger axle shafts. This is the perfect time to do it since it will all be taken apart anyway.

Not sure on timing yet, but will bug our supplier for pricing!!

Mike, This Industry is NOT a big secret. Its all about the $$ you spend with your supplier, as to how good of a discount you get. Or, how big of a buy-in you do. The more you spend on buy in, usually you will get a better price on the parts.
