Thom;
I can assure you that my small group along with the Dust Devils left no garbage yesterday. As a matter of fact; a few of us picked up as much as we could hold in our Jeeps. There was a group of about 40 Jeeps way ahead of us according to one of the local guys camping there not to mention the atv's we saw around there. Another group came in behind us as I could hear them ocassionally on the CB. Our group was even unstacking rocks in places.
It sounds like that place is getting too well known at this point.

P.S. You wheeled that trail with me last time and you know I don't dump trash. Just wanting to clear our group from any blame. Thanks.

Eric

That's what I figured as much of the stuff picked up was sun faded and dirty. Alot of it appeared to have washed down the creek when the water was running higher. I'm all for a cleanup run.

Thom,

When we (AZXJ) left I ran through camp and she was clean as a bell except the pile that has been there in the main camp area for over a year.. We were gonna burn it cuz it's mostly wood material.. but didn't want to cause a big fire.. I walked the entire trail from the big fall down to the start of the trail and there wasn't one ounce of trash on the trail.. Oh, and no one stacked in our group either.. There was one chunk that fell off at the filter into the water.. We did put two small rocks below the filter to fill in some holes that we dug in the sand with one of the vehicles.. They were moved around by vehicles that couldn't make the filter due to bumper clearence, I know they are out of the way now..
Where exactly was the trash at ???

3rd for a cleanup run, and FIRST to point out why people are so hesitant to give out "new" trail directions. I know the cracks isnt that well known, and I honestly dont think I saw any rock stacking or trash for that matter. It was so nice NOT to have to preach about stacking rocks, or removing them by people that have stacked them in the past. Hopefully the cracks will be kept quiet and clean for quite sometime to come.

Yeup, I hear you all on this one. Unfortunately for Payette Draw it was publicized in a national magazine. So many times when they are running trails in mags or on TV that just opens up to so many people that have no business being on those trails. It is up to those of us that cherish what we have to protect it from those that use and abuse it. I just saw a couple of shows on 4x4 TV about Highway 20 in JV. I just hope that people don't get a hold of that one the way that they have others and make it into a new trash can.
