So I am planning on flying out During the first week of June (1st-8th) to look at some places and hopefully do a few interviews.
Any suggestions on things to do while I'm out there...? I will be in the phoenix area thursday through saturday then I am going to spend a day in prescott and flagstaff.
Oh is anybody going wheelin that weekend? I would love to ride along.
Thanks,
Tim

oops - posted a link to a run listed on the VJC site but it says it's been cancelled.
If I end up doing anything that weekend (likely on the SE side of town), I'll let you know.

Tim, Most runs are not planned that far in advance. There will be several runs during the time you are here just wait till it gets closer and they will show up. They will mostly be night runs though.

Well it is official my flight comes in on wens. the 1st and i will be in the area till wens. the 8th. I plan on taking some time to check out the Prescott and Flagstaff area's but other than that I will be in or around Phoenix.
My primary goal of the trip is to look for a place to rent.
Any reccomendations on areas to stay away from and to lean towards would be great.
Oh I also have a buddy coming with me now so we might need two seats for a trail ride or I would be willing to chain him to a phone pole or something while I get to go play. :D
Thanks again

Where do you want to live? Better question would be, what part of town are you going to work at? As my name suggests I am a FedEx guy and I have been to every nice place and every rathole in Central Phoenix. If you want to stay in Central Phoenix I can help ya, otherwise ask around.
Word to the wise...don't try to commute more than 20 miles. If you do...you will hate life.

As far as where to look to rent I'ld find out where you are going to be working and stay somewhere near there. A friend of mine used to be a rental broker.( not sure if that's what it's called) He helps people find apartments. I could find out if he still does this and get you in touch with him. He usually can get pretty good deals.Send me a pm when you get in town. :D

My cousion was an EMT in some part of Pittsburg, can't remember the name not a good part of town though.
To bad you could not make it for Memorial day i'm planning on getting out with the jeep and hittin some trails and campin in the new toy hauler! :D :D

Honestly... No job yet! I agree with you on finding somewhere near where I will be working gotta get a job first, but for a few months at least I'm not worried about it. I've emailed scott from the board (sponsoring realtor) and he says not to worry about finding a place... That would be great if you can get me in touch with your buddy as well. The more people helpin the better.. my biggest concern is somewhere to put my tools/trialer/motorcycle I don't have any furniture I'm trying to keep the move light but I will probably put the tools an bike in storage till I get settled into somewhere that I can keep them.

I am actually 15-20 minutes from beaver falls. I'm in southern beaver county right now near Ambridge. You know you could always use this as an excuse to go wheelin again...!

Tempe and Scottsdale are the only places you should look. More specifically, North Tempe and South Scottsdale. This is where all of the nightlife is--and by nightlife I mean bars filled with ASU girls. There are plenty of affordable apartments and houses to rent. I've lived around here for a while, let me know if you need help finding a place.

What type of wheelin you wanna do?
night runs are fun thats all I did for about a year when i was living in CT. as far as type of wheelin that is up to the driver as it's not my rig to request getting broken. But it would be nice to have to atleast use 4wd. especially if it will be at night and won't be able to look at scenery.
beggers can't be choosers so i'm willin to go anywhere.
