So I got rearended in my jeep by a 4 door big GMC Yukon. She was doin 40, didn't notice I had to come to a stop and plowed into me. Pushed my jeep into a minivan. The Yukon was totalled and had to be towed. THe minivan's back hatch will never open again. I had a small dent on my rear quarterpanel. .25" steel bumpers front and rear work in rocks and the street. First accident I've ever been in in my jeep. The cops and firefighters were pretty impressed it took no real serious damage. I built a 2x4" steel front bumper that I welded to the frame rails. THe paint didn't even get scratched on it. Pretty cool.

Hmmm, while I was expecting to read about you blowing up an axle shaft somewhere this to was interesting reading.
Glad you are okay and that the heep held up. Was there anything that you are going to have to replace as a result? Because if she was going that fast, plowed into you and you into another and absolutely nothing broke then YOU ROCK.
Too bad someone didn't shoot a pic of all of them lined up crashed. It would've been a nice "Only in a Jeep" picture.

Ditto, I thought you were talking about the D35 Yukon shafts. Glad to hear you and the Jeep are OK :)

Glad to hear that it sounds as if your not hurt,
as fer the Jeep, Beware.
If the Bumpers didnt give, something else may have. (frame???)

She doesn't drive any different. Everything seems fine. I did bend my steel cargo rack with my back, though. I'm pretty damn sore.

My advice would be to take it to call her insurance company and tell them that you would like to take it to a shop that specializes in 4 Wheel Drive vehicles to make sure that it is not damaged structurally... and that you do not want to be paying for this...
Also, be sure to call your own insurance company and tell them... Your rates should not go up by just communicating with them that you were involved in an accident that was not your fault and that you will initially work with the other insurance company... By notifying your own insurance company they will back you up in case the other insurance company pulls some funny business (certainly not unheard of)
Then take it to Joe, 4 Wheelers, or some other shop and have them check everything out including the condition of the frame... If it is bent, then she owes you some money to get it fixed... You then have the option to use that money to fix your jeep in any manner you please...

Danno- one step ahead of you. I'm gonna have the frame checked, estimate for the body damage, my winch lost a part off the front, my tranny is leaking and I can't remember if it did before the accident..., and I can't remember if my windshield was cracked before or not either...,hmmm, the alignment may be off too... my spine was and her insurance company is paying for that.. I'm thinking poison spider crusher corners are gonna be ordered at thier expense soon... :D

Good thing you contacted her insurance Tom. I have heard a lot about when jeeps get rear ended the Tranny leaks and the windshield cracks :D . Seriously though good for you. A collision at that speed something has to take the force.
