Well since it was mentioned in the old thread that people are interested again in that trail, I'm free on Saturday and actually want to make it to the river.

Where is the log corral? Whats the rating?

Off 87 going north, it seems to also be know as Beeline to Bartlett. Wasn't all that bad in the pouring rain, but I suggest at least 33 inch tires and a bit of driving skill. I've got 35's, no lockers and a little skill so I was fine. Even outwheeled Devil Man in this one part. :p
EDIT: Now I'm not looking to lead this, I've only been there once. I figured if the guys from the last run wanted to go again, that I'd be up for somewhere in the middle of the pack again. ;)

No problem, like I said though I've only been there once so if some of the more experianced of this trail don't show or want to run it, then I'm probably not going to go.

If people that have run it before are interested, we can start at like 8am. If the group is small, I'm sure we can make it to the river.
Still haven't put braces on that thing have you. :D

I was thinking about running it friday night
I'd join ya for that one, for sure, but I have to be to work at 5 am Saturday (and Sunday). If you postpone it for a week, I'm in!

Well it seems I have been invited on a run taking place on Saturday so it looks as if I will not be running Log Corral on Saturday.
Now Friday night, that sounds pretty cool. It would be an interesting trail at night, that's for sure.

Count me in! I'm half done installing my Big Daddy steering box mount to replace the cheesy stock one I busted during the OBH AZ Tour week. I'm going to try and replace my dried out body mounts this weekend also.

Sounds good. Thanks for reminding me - my exhaust keeps coming loose at the manifold. Those two bolts just won't stay tight, even with LocTite. I need a whole new exhaust, but for the time being, I need to come up with a way to keep them tight.

do you want to start at 3 or 4am that way we can run it in the dark & it will warm up at the half way point? :D
Nah, I'd end up hitting the snooze and not getting up :)
Let's do it as planned and I'll just bring extra layers. With low's only in the 50's it's not going to be that bad.
So far it just me, you and Bruce (are you going, Steve?). If we limit it to 4 or 5 rigs, we can probably make good time and get all the way to the lake.

It was loose soil, so I needed speed to make that. :D

a heavy foot is not a bad thing as long as you have a big wallet :D
My arse is big, but it ain't because of that wallet.
I still say I don't have a heavy foot!!!

So what is this "original plan", Matt? Start time?
I'm outta town for a couple days this week, but get back around noon-ish on Friday. Not sure if I'd be able to join you, but it sure gives me something to think about...incentive, maybe?

7pm is the plan. I'm off at 4 and figure I'll need a bit more than the normal hour to get there given rush hour, so I plan to leave home no later than 5 to be safe. I'll probably grab a quick bite to eat (to go) somewhere in Mesa on the way up.

Thanks, guys.
If I can go, I'll be there by 7. If I'm not there...I aint gonna be there, so don't wait. :D

Did you build a skid plate for it so the trees don't rip at it again?
I bet that exhaust is pretty loud now too  Is that flex pipe legal exhaust here in AZ?

I still plan on attending provided I get my skid plate back and installed tomorrow evening. I took it upthe street to a friend to weld (Bill, I still want you to build me a new one, but it was easier to have the cracked one welded locally) the crack and also weld on a 1/4" plate where the ladder bar attaches for more stability until I have Bill build me a good one - maybe something like what I see under Eric's rig. Eric - do you have any pics of the whole tranny mount?

Let us know how things turn out, Bruce. Hopefully they cantake care of without surgery. And my offer still stands if there is anything I can do to help while you're on the DL.
