I went last year and is was a lot of fun. It was not hard wheeling but the area I had never been through before. This year they expanded the event to try and draw more enteries. It should be a great event and everyone was very friendly. They are looking to get the 4 wheelers involved which is nice for a change.

Looks like fun--I have put together events like this before--it would be nice to just go as a guest for once! Besides, I haven't seen Will at the Cleator Bar in a couple months...Remember, if you pronounce it "kleeter" they know you are from out of town (population 10, including dogs)! :D Wait--starts at sunrise??!

Thanks for the post, Jim!

So for us out of towner's, what's the proper pronunciation of Cleator? Long "a" like in theatre?

Kind of like Couch Street in Portland. If you pronounce it like it the other name for sofa, you're not from them parts :D

Hell, the only way I've ever heard it pronounced is kleeter, and I'm an AZ native. What is the correct way?

Looks like fun...
Is this a 3-day run where you camp on the trail (like the Rubicon), or is all the camping in one spot and the rigs return there each evening? I couldn't get a feel for the area size from the map.

The camping is all in one spot. Last year they even let us use the pool at the club house. Remember that was last year and it is thier option.

I have no idea and could not find it on the web page either. I would expect it to start at 8:00 AM but that is just a guess. Sorry

OK,
I got the scoop. Seems they were responding to me but put the wrong address in. The sign in starts at 6:30 And the runs is gonna start at 8:30. This was fun last year(except busting my radiator) and they are changing the route a little to make it a little tougher. Should be a good time. :D

I only posted it as a run as a favor to the group doing the run. I did not go to Meyer. I hope to see a trail report from someone.
