phoenix, telegraph canyon to box canyon ?'s.

Howdy,

New here.
Been a lurker of azvjc dot org for years.

There is a trail from the botanical gardens out on the 60 that links to the upper end of box canyon. Trail is named Telegraph Canyon, as identified in "Arizona Backcountry Adventures".
Goes thru an old mine (which has re-opened, I think...).
Last time I tried to come in from the 60, out by the gardens, I got in a ways only to come across a locked gate and a private property sign.

Is there an alternate route into Telegraph?
Has the land Telegraph is on, been privitized?

Telegraph Canyon is a forest road (FR4). It is in the Tonto National Forest. It is signed when you get on it south of Superior. There are a couple of informal connections to FR4 which run across private property, but the road actually starts south of the high school baseball/softball fields.
