Yesterday on a Barett-Jackson auction from Palm Beach, Florida, they had a '71 Cuda Hemi. They said it had a D60 w/4.10 gears and disc brakes from the factory. Was this car's rear end an odity? It seems like with the wheel base and lug pattern this would have made a perfect swap for a YJ/TJ.

Not trying to be a smart*** but are you infering that a Factory "71 Hemi Cuda (about $300k at the scottsdale Barret-Jackson) should be stripped to build a trail rig, even a JEEP !!

OK, maybe a bit of a smart***

First, this one only sold for $150K.

Second, no. Just wondering if there were any Challengers or something that came with the D60's.

Third not all cars of that year and model are worth restoring. Say if the "frame" was bent and the body panels were gone.

& Forth maybe there is some way of getting a stock axle from Spicer. That way you don't have to pay the big bucks places like Currie want for them.

James the D60 was quite popular in those cars. still a 30 spline (like the D44) Too wide, and good luck getting one from a MOPAR freak. You think Jeep people are tight about giving up parts......:)

Still 30 spline? wow, what were the 9.75" rear ends they put in the autos? Seems like they would be just as strong as the D60's, for hot rodders.

That's funny, all MOPAR freaks are like that? I have a friend that is a MOPAR guy, from way back, and I just thought it was him. Him and his wife bought a house and haven't sold their old one yet because their old one is full of old parts that he doesn't want to get rid of. His wife won't let him move all the parts to the new house.

Oh well. I was just brain storming.

{BTW} If you every need some "filler work" at the shop, let me know. I am still having water issues and need some stuff gone through. I can make a list.

Hmmm... Sounds like the "Normal" MOPAR wife. I too, had the decision made that NONE of my Shelby stuff was coming to the new house....Oh well....As my second childhood comes around I have a few things I am in search of, A few I have found and aquired, some are still on the list. I know we all have things that we did / didnt have when we were kids/teenagers,( or just thrashed what we had) and now they become available. Here's my list.....anyone else have any "Second Childhood" stuff they want????

1) ANY HiFonics Series VII or VIII Car audio amplifiers or signal processors
2) 87 Shelby GLH-S Charger
3) 85 or 86 Honda ATC 350X ( Had an 85 200X but couldnt talk dad into the "big" one)
4) 1991 Honda CRX SI ( had one but want another one)
5) 1987 Honda VFR 700.... First street bike I ever had....mmmm V-4 Torque)
6)Christian Hosoi hammerhead skate deck with Indy trucks, with "Thunder Boltz" and 97A bones wheels.
7)1984 Hutch Trick Star with redline 185 cranks, and "z" spoke wheels, and monkey barz.

All stuff I had, but was a typical teenager and just thrashed all of it....:) Slowly but surely aquiring them. :D
