lately i have found i am getting more waves than ever. even at the u of a
when i see stockers i wave, and have had a really good luck so far getting a
wave back. but the problem with tucson is all the spoiled high schoolers,
and posers. yah know the ones who buy a 4" lift, put 33's on, and leave a
stock size spare on cause they are idiots and never plan on taking their
jeep off-road but only did it for looks. then theres the lame excuse of "i
was driving and couldnt wave". well, if you were driving you would be
scanning traffic ahead of you to see for brake lights ect. and you would
notice another jeep coming the other way and therefore take a second out of
your day to wave. but then agian the jeep wave is sort of like the
motorcycle wave. i ride a sportbike, therefore harley riders never throw a
wave at me, and i never throw a wave at them. but i would throw a wave at
any another sportbike rider or any other kind of motorcycle. some people
will only wave at certian jeeps and if so fine, but they miss the point of
owning the jeep.

Why don't you all (who live in the same city) get some kind of flag for the
CB antennas or just add one. That way you will recognize other's from the
list! I don't know if this is a bad idea but I kind of like how some Jeeps
have 6' or 7' or I don't know how long antennas with flags, that looks cool
and you can identify others easily.
Just a thought. BTW I will install my CB antenna this weekend, got a 7' -
3' fiberglass and 4' stainless, screwable so I can still put the Jeep in the
garage ;)

He downloaded the Jeep wave Hierarchy and I've been waving ever since. I

Seems to me there should be more people LEARNING to drive offroad
with smaller engines before going out and buying (not building) a
better equiped jeep. It has happened more than once that a trail run
turns into a class on how to fix your broken jeep. I dont mind
helping out someone in need, but if you have never worked on your own
jeep, how can you expect to fix it when it brakes down on the trail?
Might seem like a mute point to those who have the means to buy
whatever they need, but for those of us who have performed a majority
of the work ourselves, it can be irritating to say the least. And
about Desert Rat, I have never waited more than 10 minutes for
someone to help me in the store in Tucson.

Hi folks: Got some 6-inch Xenon YJ flares I'd like to sell. I removed them
last weekend and kinda like the looks without them. I'll eventually be
going to TJ flares so I can chop some sheet metal.
Anyway, they are in moderately good condition. No tears or stretches. They
do, however, have numerous trail scratches and are slightly faded. Since I
don't polish (or clean) them, a good coat of Armor All or something would
likely bring them back to black.
I'm asking $100 (these are ~$280 new). I'm missing about 4 of the attaching
bolts that I mangled getting them off. Also, since they came off a Sahara
with factory steps, there is no end cap on the front flares. I think you
can purchase them separately.

Also, I'll be driving alone and don't mind to have

lately i have found i am getting more waves than ever. even at the u of a
when i see stockers i wave, and have had a really good luck so far getting a
wave back. but the problem with tucson is all the spoiled high schoolers,
and posers. yah know the ones who buy a 4" lift, put 33's on, and leave a
stock size spare on cause they are idiots and never plan on taking their
jeep off-road but only did it for looks. then theres the lame excuse of "i
was driving and couldnt wave". well, if you were driving you would be
scanning traffic ahead of you to see for brake lights ect. and you would
notice another jeep coming the other way and therefore take a second out of
your day to wave. but then agian the jeep wave is sort of like the
motorcycle wave. i ride a sportbike, therefore harley riders never throw a
wave at me, and i never throw a wave at them. but i would throw a wave at
any another sportbike rider or any other kind of motorcycle. some people
will only wave at certian jeeps and if so fine, but they miss the point of
owning the jeep.

When I first got the Jeep, I waved. I liked it. It was kinda like
the "Harley Wave". No one waved back. Harley people wave back.
Now, negatively affected by the rejection and fearing continued
psychological damage. I wave....second. It seems to me that many of
us are waiting to wave second. Herego no one waves FIRST. I am
troubled by the thought that I may be causing irreperable pychosis
with my actions. Please accept this group wave (WAVE) and know that
I will take the "1st wave position" going forward to all rigs that
look like they have had the possibility of ever having anything but
asphalt under their rubbers..... ;-[) Glen

BTW I will install my CB antenna this weekend, got a 7' -
3' fiberglass and 4' stainless, screwable so I can still put the Jeep in the
garage ;)

I'm twenty-two now I bought my Jeep for Christmas two years ago. When I
first bought it I drove it for a month or so before I talked to my dad. I
said Dad people keep waving at me when I drive the Jeep what is going on?
He downloaded the Jeep wave Hierarchy and I've been waving ever since. I
even wave when I drive my car. Ignorance may be the reason so few of us
are getting waved to.

Subject: Four bangers vs. Knowledge

My carb. on my 73' Commando is giving me some trouble. It is a one barrel
Carter on the 232. I've already had it rebuilt and every time I make an
adjustment it only runs good for a few of days(if even that long). Since it
looks like I'm going to have to get another one I just wanted some advice on
what to get.(one barrel, two barrel....) I don't know alot about this
subject all I know is that I can't afford fuel injection. :)
Thanks

Chad,
Jp magazine wrote an article on replacing the Carter with a Solex available from
JC Whitney. I was considering the same swap, and they did it and were happy with
the results. I would have rigged the choke cable differently though....

That said, has JP ever NOT been happy with something they've done?
Everytime I read it, I'm stunned by its uselessness. It all seems like
marketing copy rather than real journalism. And they never, ever include
prices on stuff the test. How ridiculous is that. Sorry for venting, I just
get frustrated because I'd like th mag to be good and I'm always
disappointed.

All,
I am taking a week off from 11/20 to 11/24 to do some
runs at Moab, Utah. This is what I've been waiting
for some time now, however, this will be my first time
up to there. Hence, I'd love to know if any of you
would like to participate on this event with me.
Also, I'll be driving alone and don't mind to have
someone to tag along. As far as the schedule, I am
very flexible on the date & time for leaving and
coming back. So far, I am planning to leave town
(phx) on Saturday (11/18) and spend 3-4 days there for
4wheeling. With my current rig setup, I'd like to run
the 3 to 4+ trials. Please let me know if you're
interested since, I definitely don't want to go alone.
