Dec 2-3 works for me!!! I like the idea that the gifts should be related to
Jeeps, however wrapping them would be prefered to raping them.
I think having santa there for the kids would be good too, he could ride in
on a old flat fender being towed in by eight tiny cylinder?

the last day to do so and having representation would be a good.
Arizona State Parks is advertising for advisory

Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Group

Because the "hands off/put out all fires" policy that has been in
effect for years causes the deadfalls and undergrowth to build
up. When it does catch fire, the fire has so much fuel it burns
too hot. This kills the forest rather than revitalizing it as it
would if "normal" fires had periodically burned the dead stuff.
Grazing and logging (within reason) alleviates the problem.
Maybe someone has learned something this summer....but I doubt
it.

======================================
Welcome to the club, Dan. As a member of our club (or non-member of our non-club) you are always welcome on any ride we post. All we ask is that you know or are willing to test the limitations of your rig and your driving ability. I think that leaves it pretty wide open. You shouldn't try serious rock crawling on your first day out but there are many good trails around here to test your Jeep and this is one of them. Your lift and tires are fine. If you have factory limited slip in the rear you will have fun but little trouble with this trail. If you don't we may have to strap you in a couple of places so having tow hooks on the front is a good idea. Also, this is a place to air down your tires and disconnect the front sway bar to get the most out of the articulation of your Jeep. Your Teraflex probably came with discons so you should be fine.
Come on out and play with us all tomorrow. By the way, very nice of you to ask but we don't "invite" people on our runs. We just post them and those who want to go do so. In some cases where the going is rough we may try to limit the number of Jeeps so that the trail can be done in a day. Other than that it is your club too. We welcome you on whatever run you feel comfortable with. This is the best group in the business.

Subject: More problems with Metcalf 2" kit
Hi,
I received the 2" kit today and started to install it. The 2" motor mounts went in first but I was disappointed in the fit. I had to install 2 large washers one on each side of the bushing in order for it to fit in the motor bracket without being sloppy. Last weekend I installed 1" lifted poly mounts from another vendor in a buddies TJ and they fit perfectly so I knew something was amiss. I proceeded to install the new linkage and crossmember and ran into problems. I believe the kit you sent me was designed for a TJ 6 cylinder with automatic. I have a 6 cylinder with manual transmission. The tranny mount slots were too far back on the plate. The entire tranny mount section should be moved forward 3/4-1" on the crossmember. There is no way I can get this one to work. I also found that the linkage sent does not work either. Long before the crossmember and drivetrain is lifted all the way to the frame, the upper linkage makes contact with the tub. I was really hoping that this would bolt right up and I could at least be happy once it was in. At this point I'm not interested in keeping it since 3 out of 3 parts were a disappointment. I would like to ship it back to you. Please send me a shipping label so I can get it back as soon as possible.

Does anyone with a TJ who either got bigger tires or new gears that

Subject: BigTex trailer purchase specifics
Hey all --
I went to BigTex trailers today to find out more specifics on a multi-
trailer purchase because I got a few AZVJCers interested. Here's the
scoop:
Trailer specs:
Model 60CH
16' long (although 10'-20' are available as well for a diff price)
83" wide pad
~1700 lbs
tandem axle with electric brakes on one axle
full length wood deck and metal ramps
List price on their lot for this trailer is $2100. The salesman said
if we did an order of 5 or more trailers he could get us the above
trailers for $1600 (plus tax) each.
Things like brakes on the second axle, spare tire, axle straps,
trailer brake wiring, and steel deck would cost extra and each
trailer will be custom ordered. They will take ~6 weeks to deliver
these for a bulk order (they only have 1 16' car hauler on the lot
right now). Things like colors (white/black/blue/red) are no
charge. If you want specs on the trailer I have a spec sheet but my
suggestion is take a trip down to the 19th ave/I17 BigTex dealership
and talk to Travis Crow about the carhauler (602-252-0900).
Note that Arizona requires that these trailers be registered every
year, although if you degrade the registration to 5999 lbs, a
lifetime registration is possible.
Anyway, $1600 really is a smokin' deal for the quality of this
trailer. I had 5 commitments including myself for a quantity
purchase but that was about 2 wks ago so I need confirmations. The
process will start when we can get $100 down payment for each trailer
to Big Tex, then they'll order them. The remaining $1500 will be due
when the trailer is picked up at their dealership.
Anyone wanting to take part in this deal will need to email me
offline and let me know how/when you'll get your $100 to BigTex. If
I don't get at least 5 orders within two weeks I'll probably buy one
for myself at the higher price since I'm ready to buy now.
Happy Jeepin'

Dec 2-3 works for me!!! I like the idea that the gifts should be related to
Jeeps, however wrapping them would be prefered to raping them.
I think having santa there for the kids would be good too, he could ride in
on a old flat fender being towed in by eight tiny cylinder?

Because the "hands off/put out all fires" policy that has been in
effect for years causes the deadfalls and undergrowth to build
up. When it does catch fire, the fire has so much fuel it burns
too hot. This kills the forest rather than revitalizing it as it
would if "normal" fires had periodically burned the dead stuff.
Grazing and logging (within reason) alleviates the problem.
Maybe someone has learned something this summer....but I doubt
it.

======================================

Jeff
