FR 422 travels along the ridge and dead ends at Edwards Park. It's a
beautiful trail w/ great views. I'd rate it a 2+. Great camping at Edwards
Park (not a park...just a name), and Little Pine Flat. At Edwards Park, you
can pick up a hiking trail that will take you down to Reno Pass.
FR422A/FR463 goes off of FR422 not too far after the start of the trail
(several miles) and is the old El Oso mine road. This is a good class 3
trail that generally parallels to the east of 422 and rejoins 422 further
north. This trail splits, w/ 422A going to Big Pine Flat (dead end) and 463
continuing to El Oso mine and ultimately back to 422. Makes a very nice
loop. When I do this run, I take 463 to the mine, and then continue on to
Edwards to camp.

BTW, the trail to the right you referred to (with out a sign) is the
continuance of FR143 (4 Peaks Rd) will take you down into the Tonto Basin,
between Roosevelt and Punkin Center.

Sounds out of character for them. Brian responded a little more in line with
what I would expect. Something tells me somehow they got the impression you
expected something for nothing. In which case, I believe anyone would have
responded similarly. Attitude begets response, Pete. I'm not saying you had
the wrong attitude, but you may want to review your motive. Its pretty easy
to identify ring and pinion sets the tooth count IS stamped right on the
ring gear. Yours should have said something like 41 10 .
Bashing 4wheelers for this may end up hurting any future dealings you
have with this company. I will continue to use Brian and 4Wheelers for all
my Jeepin' stuff. Even though your story painted them lousy in customer
service, as I was reading beteew the lines, I could see they were still
TRYING to make you happy. They just were not caving into you.

Fantastic pics Ross!! My compliments to you and Bill.........y'all did an
excellent job on your rig.
I probably shouldn't have showed the pics to Pam though, 'cuz now we have to
do the same thing to her CJ5. :-)
Actually, looking at your rig in action answered a lot of questions/worries
that we had about putting full size axles under hers. We've been debating
the full-width vs. stock width question for months, and after seeing yours
we both agree on putting in the full width axles. Did you run 60's at both
ends?

I have the original 134F head 4 cylinder out of my 1965 CJ-5. It is in
running condition. The 3spd T-90 is attached but the synchro's in it are
worn and the main shaft is pulled out. The engine and transmission are
complete.
The engine has some new parts:
1)re-built generator
2)new regulator
3)new plugs
4)new points, condenser, rotor and cap on the distributor
5)The old crank driven fuel pump quit working. It is still attached, but
the engine has ran off a 4psi electric pump for about a year. The
electric pump is still attached and comes with the engine.
The engine comes with all the hoses, belts, stock radiator, oil bath air
cleaner, and exhaust manifold. I would like to get $250 for both and
will not separate them.

the part numbers are for 4" Supelift springs.....I bought mine at Fly-

just didn't look right...then, the other day I was over at Blake V's

4" springs in his garage he'd just taken off his ride....these
springs were "bowed" a hell of lot more than mine were when I
installed them.....I dug up the receipt from FNH and it says cj FT &
RR 4" with part numbers SUP01-503F-5 AND SUP01-503R-6....the numbers
match what's on the springs, but like I said, they didn't look like a
4" lift.....so, back to the original ?????, ARE these the correct
part numbers for a 4" lift or a 2.5" lift....thanx in advance for the

Mine are the softer Superide type but the numbers may be different

CHANGES TO ROCKER PANEL PASS
Trail Run:
Where = Rocker Panel Pass
Rating = 3.5 to 4.0
When = Saturday, September 30th
Time = 7:30am at McDonalds (country club & McKellips), 8:00am at the 87 turnoff)
Lead = ??????????????????????????
Duration = 1/2 to 3/4 of a day
The changes are the removal of myself and Linda. I know a couple people were pretty set on going so I can still be a point of contact. The az_vjc website has a map of the trail with coordinates so it shouldn't be hard for anyone to find. If Scott, or someone else would like to lead, let me know or just post to the group taking over. I never got any confirmations from the tentative list I posted last week so I don't know who "really" is planning on going. If you're positive, let me know and I'll post a confirmation to the group Friday night.
Here's the list so far, if the rest of this list stays in you should have a pretty good trip.
(removed) Devon W (white cj)
(removed) Linda L (black ZJ)
Scott K (tan TJ)
Dale S ( green TJ)
Mike T (?)
Eban (yj)
John N (XJ)
Thomas J (YJ)
As for myself, I'm opting for a lower rated trail. Still thinking about Box Canyon so if anyone would like to do that let me know. Otherwise I'll probably just join John on FR42 or Mike on the west side.
Sorry for the changes but I hope you guys have a great trip.
Have fun,

Subject: Saturday Run
I will lead a run on FR42 on Saturday. This is a fun run with some good sandy hill challenges and great scenery.
MEET?: The Pay Station on Bartlett Lake Road
WHEN?; 8AM departure from the Pay Station - we will air down at the trail head
WHAT?: Class 3 trail in some spots. Some steep and loose hills with lots of moguls. MINIMUM OF LIMITED SLIP IN THE REAR IS RECOMMENDED OR BE PREPARED TO BE STRAPPED.
HOW LONG?: Should be done by noon - before the real heat sets in. Plan on a lunch stop around 11:30 at the play hills on Indian Springs wash.
For those who want, the run will return after lunch via the 11 Mile Wash which ends up in the Rio Verde area about 8 miles from Forrt McDowell on SR87. Or, you can head back the way you came.
Bring lots of H2O and lunch.
Please let me know if you plan to attend.
DIRECTIONS TO BARTLETT LAKE:
Take Pima Road or Scottsdale Road NORTH to the end (Scottsdale Rd actually changes names to Tom Darlington Rd. Turn Right by the Shell Station onto Cave Creek Rd.). They both end at E. Cave Creek Road in Carefree. Go East to the Bartlett Lake turnoff. Make the right hand turn on Bartlett Lake Rd and go 14 miles to the Pay Station.

Subject: Darner Chrysler Feedback... TJ Warranty Repairs
Greetings Everyone,
Just to close the loop on the Warranty repairs that I took my 98TJ into
Darner Chrysler for (Cracked exhaust manifold and gages going to zero)... I
got the TJ back today... and the verdict is:
Both items were repaired and I find no evidence of sloppy work (i.e, no
missing parts, no extra parts, no damaged or loose parts).
Both items were covered under warranty with NO mention of how highly
modified my vehicle is... not a word.. not a peep... they just fixed the
problems and said nothing.
The work was done in one day.
The service advisor (Sam Buttaglia) was professional and courteous.
To summarize: I have no complaints whatsoever. I can certainly recommend
them based on my experience with them.

I would like to get $250 for both and
will not separate them.

place getting some welding done (thanx again Blake) and saw a set of
4" springs in his garage he'd just taken off his ride....these
springs were "bowed" a hell of lot more than mine were when I
installed them.....I dug up the receipt from FNH and it says cj FT &
RR 4" with part numbers SUP01-503F-5 AND SUP01-503R-6....the numbers
match what's on the springs, but like I said, they didn't look like a
4" lift.....so, back to the original ?????, ARE these the correct
part numbers for a 4" lift or a 2.5" lift....thanx in advance for the
help, and sorry for being so long-winded....

I have Superlift springs on my 77 CJ5 and the numbers are ( these are
off of the spring label not a receipt)
front- (part of it was rubbed off) 01***F-6FRT
rear- 01-533R-6FRT
Mine are the softer Superide type but the numbers may be different
because of the year. I hope this helps some.

CHANGES TO ROCKER PANEL PASS
Trail Run:
Where = Rocker Panel Pass
Rating = 3.5 to 4.0
When = Saturday, September 30th
Time = 7:30am at McDonalds (country club & McKellips), 8:00am at the 87 turnoff)
Lead = ??????????????????????????
Duration = 1/2 to 3/4 of a day
The changes are the removal of myself and Linda.

I can certainly recommend
them based on my experience with them.

well its good to hear someone finally had a good experience. i know from my
own experience i would never recomend Galloway Chrysler-PLymoth-Jeep -Eagle
in Tucson to ne1 for service. i have been there only 3 times for warranty
work and 2 out of 3 were horrible expereiences were they didnt even fix the
problem i came in for and sent me on my way telling me it had been fixed.
even after talking with the head supervisor nothing was done. they are all
jack-asses there if u ask me.
just my .02
