If anyone needs to rebuild these compressors go to Isley's, they have gaskets,
etc. NOS for these.

I have negotiated a special price with 1-800-RADIATOR on GDI 3 row
radiators. To my knowledge, they are the only one that
makes a 3 row for XJ's.
Anyway, call Damon directly at 1-888-723-4286 ext.277. I've heard prices
as high as $270.00 for these. Mention my name, and
your price is $90.00 delivered (if pre-paid) anywhere in the Cont. U.S.
If C.O.D. it's $10.00 more. Even with the 3 row, you can
still get a little on the warm side if you are wheeling slow. Keep in
mind that if your aux. fan is not running, and you're moving slow,
you're not moving air through about 50% of your radiator. You might
consider a manual aux. fan switch. Also, the synthetic oil
should help things run cooler. Hope that helps...Dirk

I too took my 99 TJ in this past week for a manifold crack with 35K miles on
it. I took mine to Lou Grubb which was Pitre at one point. They did an
excellent job and since I also had a complaint about my gas plunger in the
tank only reading 3/4 full when I fill it up, they told me I can come back
any time in the future even if it is off warranty and they will fix it.

Doug,

My 99 TJ manifold is cracked too. A friend just had his 99 TJ manifold replaced under warranty. The new design with the accordion section looks like it shouldn't crack. I'm going to have to take mine in soon.

Joe, I remember you saying yours was cracked too. If your reading this lets take both of ours in at the same time so we can double up on them if they give us any grief about the mods.

Where did you get your spool from? Something is wrong with my Lock-Right

springs. Anyways, next time I open her up, I'm going to fix it right.

Subject: Wheel Wobble(Might be Death Wobble), PLEASE HELP

Ok, about amonth ago I started getting a slight wobble in the front end. I
was not consistant and I figured after installing the new 4" lift I would
have it realigned. Well the lift is not in yet and the wobble was getting
worse(occured at different speeds and still not consistant), so I replaced
the sterring stabalizer. Well the slight wandering was fixed, and now the
only wobble is between 40-45 mph. It is consistant, and if you drive in
that speed you won't for long without loosing control.

In speaking with an offroad shop in town I was told I need an
alignment(Friday). I called today and was told it may be the trac bar.
Anyone know which it is? Am I going to be taken for a ride here? Any help
would be greatly appreciated. I have a 1:30 appointment.

Thanks.

13002 From: Jeff Meade <jeffm@d...>
Date: Sat Sep 23, 2000 2:09pm
Subject: Re: Wheel Wobble(Might be Death Wobble), PLEASE HELP

Death wobble can be caused by about 100 different things. I'll list
some of them here (in no particular order).

front end out of alignment
wheel/tire out of balance
worn drag link and/or tie rod ends
worn track bar ends (upper and/or lower)
bent rim
tire(s) out of round
RS9000s mounted upside down (must be mounted exposed stem up)
worn steering stabilizer
improper steering geometry after lift (track bar vs. drag link)
worn steering box
warped rotors

I have a ton of friends with XJs that have had DW bad in their
vehicles ... some have fixed them by fixing one or more of the above
problems, others (myself included) haven't isolated the source of the
problem yet. Unfortunately and most likely your DW problem is
probably a combination of more than one of the above problems, which
makes it difficult to isolate and troubleshoot. The RS9000 problem
is actually bizarre, but I have 1st hand experience that if these are
mounted incorrectly they can cause SERIOUS death wobble. That's one
of the easy things to check.

Hope it helps ...
Jeff

Subject: help me locate some seats

Hey all --

Well, I was nearly done fabbing up my Beard seat mounts (seat mounts
tied into my roll cage) on my CJ and I found out I can't keep the
Beard seats (guy I bought them from is renigging on his end of the
deal). 4wheeler wants $450 for a pair of racing buckets plus
sliders, but my goofy CJ doesn't need anything that fancy (but BOY
are they comfy).

Anyway, I looked around today at some junkyards for some decent
buckets, but couldn't find any. If anyone has some good seats they
want to sell or any leads on some good seats, please let me know.

Specifically, I'm looking for black or dark gray buckets that
recline, slide fore/aft, and have decent back support. I can deal
with mounting just about anything, so as long as the seats are comfy
and aren't broken or ripped badly, I'll take what I can get. I'm
hoping to stay below $150 total. I found some sweeeeeet Del Sol
seats at a junkyard but they wanted $1000 for them!! Too much for
sun bleached seats IMHO.

TIA,
Jeff

Glen,

Thats normal. Sometimes the rear trackbar can bind as well. This can be solved by getting one of Teras trackbars. I had to swap my springs from side to side about 6 months after installing my RE lift. All is well now after a year and a half.
