My 98 dodge 5.2 engine was running rough, check engine light is on, just replaced transmission (46RE). Took it this morning to tranny shop (free scan) and was told problem is not the tranny but test indicate the engine misfires. Scan code p0301, p0305, p0300, and I should take the truck to a mechanic for further test. About 4k miles ago I replaced coil, spark plugs and wires, dist cap and rotor. Transmission rocks back and forth from 1st to 2nd at regular speed from a stop, if I shift it does not do it. tranny carries 12 mo warranty and that shop recommends takeing it to a mechanic to determine the problem. Want to keep my dodge, been a good truck!
