Okay,

I need to download some music for the good ol' MP3 players around here. However I don't really know what is good and what is not.

I would like one that has good up to date music and most importantly I would prefer to pay a monthly fee rather then have to pay for each track.

I looked into Napster but it seems that all the recent songs you have to pay for. I also tried Kazaa and it appears that certain songs wont play do to copyright.

So... what do you have? What do you like and what would you suggest??? HELP!!!

I use i Tunes and I don't mind paying for the tunes I want. iTunes has over 90% of the market and BMW and several other cars are supporting in OEM.

I prefer iTunes, but then again, I work for Apple. :D

99 cents per song and many albums for $9.99. Can't beat it. My Jimmy Buffett collection grows every couple of weeks.

Limewire (www.limewire.com)is the best file sharing program that I've found. Lots of music or other files and I always find what I want. Its open source, which helps prevent the spyware and other bad things that are in some other apps like Kazaa. I don't want to start a discussion about whether file sharing without a paying for it is legal, but you don't have to pay for the files on Limewire.

Itunes is cool too

Unfortunately, no. Its just like dropping anything, it is not covered under the warranty

Well I ended up signing up for limewire. It seems to be pretty good so far. I signed up for it through some website... paid $17.95 for a year on unlimited use. We'll see how it goes through time. Seems to have everything I have wanted so far and is simple to work and rather quick.

I don't mind paying for the songs I want either. However, it is just easier for me when I have to pay one flat fee monthly, or it this case yearly. Must easier then having to pay by the song.

Thanks for your input everyone!

BTW... About IPOD's... how are they? Where can they be had and what should I look into paying for one? I have heard good things about them and would like to consider one sooner or later.

Thanks!
Turtle!

I love My ipod, I've had ot for about 5 months now and I honestly do not leave the house without it. I have over 2500 mps on the computer, and I didnt feel like putting them all on CD's so I just uploaded all of them to the ipod. I also have the i-tunes FM transmitter, which allows you to play the mp3s throug the car radio @ like 88.7 fm I think. If your into music and have lots of CD's It well worth the money. Any more Q's let me know
