My jury duty was cancelled today. :D So and now I have one less thing on the "one of these days I'll..." list. Glendale Steel Supply had a 7ft piece of 3/16" 2"x4" square tube in the rems pile out back. At $.40 a pound I got it for $24. Add 4 hours of cutting, hammering, welding, and grinding it is a done deal. I topped it off with some Rustoleum Hammered spray paint. All thats left is a receiver, swing-away, and D ring posts.

Nice work for sure. Before looking at the pics I figured it would just be straight piece of rectangular tube, but the tapered ends looks very good.

Umm, no. Grinding is not fun. I remember on one of my projects I had to do like 16 hours of nothing but grinding. No thanks. But that is a long story you all probably don't need to hear. But I did learn how to avoid so much grinding for futrure projects (hint: start from scratch rather than try to convert old to new).

Looks good. kind of looks like mine....Only mine is bent all to h***. :D Mine is an air tank also though. You should do that with the one you built.
Just drill some holes and weld in the bungs for the air fittings. Just my thoughts though.

Come on....grinding in the summer is fun!

Especially when you are all sweaty, and the sparks are hitting you, and the grinding wheel decides to break apart, and your forhead is covered in steel dust....Maybe I need to hire someone to do all the grinding...:D
