After being away from the PC for awhile, I hit the New Posts link and it told me I didn't have permission (essentially no Search permissions). I logged out/in and now the New Posts and Search options are gone completely.
The only menu bar options displayed are:
User CP FAQ Members List Calendar Quick Links Log Out
I am logged in...

I imagine this is a result of whatever was done last night. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.

Under "Quick Links", and BTW, Joe said to post these at his last post re: Sponsors.

Hi Matt,
Because of the load it was placing on the server... I disabled the search capability for guests AND registered users... not realizing that it would take out the New Post capability as well.
I'll look and see if I can put the New Post capability back without enabling the general search engine.
The problem is when I disabled the search engine for guests... people would register simply to search through our database (which is growing fairly large now) and it would drag the server performance down.
I thought the solution would be to only alow people who donated to the forum to use the search engine... but this may not be a good solution if it places a large inconvenience on those who do not wish to donate.
Standby... I'll see what I can do with enabling the "new posts" feature.

Sometimes when I change something on the forum... other things that I don't expect; change as a result. Caused mostly by the fact that I refuse to read the huge reference manual that comes with the vBulletin software :D
Glad to hear things are normal.

I'm certainly familiar with cause and effect when it comes to servers :) As an IBM engineer, I deal with this on a daily basis. Funny, though, how 99% of the time "nothing has changed"
