4bbl Holley 390 cfm carburetor, less than 500 mi since it was rebuilt
HEI ignition, works flawless, new standard module
Stock exhaust
and if I cant get my money back, a set of headers, brand new.
This is all I can think of, the engine is still working good, but it leaks
oil from the neck, and the oil pump is worn so I will better get a 304
rather than rebuild a .30 bored out engine.
I will ship up on buyers cost, email if interested...

I haven't been on this trail in 8 years (Yep! the last time the UFWDA
convention was here in PHX). Back then the trail rated around 4.0.
After the pass I remember a series of really tough hill climbs and a
really long very off-camber section that snaked its way through a very
brushy wash. Are we talking about the same trail?

Joe,
I never did go on that run to Rocker Panel Pass. I was fighting another steering problem back then too. It's a curse or something. Hopefully it will be fixed once and for all next week when the TJ goes in for a knuckle over conversion and a roll cage :) Oh yeah, it needs an alignment as well. I now know why they call it the DEATH wobble.
This should be a good test run of the new steering. Hope you (and I, LOL) can make it.

Meeting spot will be the ABCO at Tanque Verde and Catalina Highway at 8:00 AM, let me know if you need directions. My handle is Wizard and I'll be monitoring channel 4 after about 7:30 AM.
I would rate the trail as a 3 to 3+ depending on the lines you choose. I have made this run is a bone stock YJ, so it's do-able by the "modification challenged". ;-)
Bring plenty of fluids and lunch, I expect to be off the trail by 4:00 at the latest, barring any carnage of course. :-)

Whoa...rewind! I didn't mean that no old Jeeps was a good thing. Just that
Chrysler would be proud! You're talking to a gal who *dreams* of Scramblers
on a daily basis (I'm on a search for my "pet scrambler"). And I would have
much rather ended up with a CJ than what I got, but at the time, I wasn't
looking for a wheeling rig, I was looking for a daily driver. But now that
I have my baby YJ, she's just that...my baby!!
And I will NEVER own an Isuzu...but - no ripping on the Amigo. Yes, Amigos
in general are little wimpy vehicles, but this one is a monster, and goes
everywhere all the jeeps/Toyotas go. He even got to pull a YJ out of the
mud this weekend (boy, I'll never hear the end of that one). And he's one
of the good four-wheelers *laugh* And I can't be too mean to the owner.
Even though he owns an Isuzu, he washes my Jeep for me whenever I ask ;)
The part that made driving the Amigo fun this weekend is that I have 1" of
shackle lift and 31s, he's got 7 1/2" of lift and 33s! It was just huge
compared to what I'm used to!!

Howdy --
Just a quick note about my recent trip to Colorado. I spent some time
on the Alpine Loop. This is a few roads between Silverton/Ouray and
Lake City. No real severe off road action (Rutted dirt roads and some
rocks on the Ouray to Engineer Pass section), but just gorgeous
scenery. Real nice area, trees, passes above treeline, several
"14ers", waterfalls, animals, cool cool nights, some great hiking and
camping. Also not too many people since the kiddies are back in
school. Very highly recommended. There are some tougher trails around
there but I stayed off them as I had the Jeep pretty loaded (2
people, 2 dogs and camping gear for a week).

I'll second that... I spent a week up there about a month ago. Did some
wheelin' near Wagon Wheel Gap and Creed and the scenery was awesome. I highly
recommend the Wheeler Geologic Area, very scenic. There wasn't any really
tough trails, at least that I saw, but there was lots of mud, it rained every
day. Had the TJ above tree line and he did just fine... I thought it might
run funny.

*laugh* well, like I've said before, I just got it not too long ago, and
some street-rod king owned it before me. It's got a HUGE front chrome
bumper, and a *much*smaller* chrome bumper on the rear....since I took a saw
to it ;)
I actually have a friend who will be fabbing a new front bumper for me once
I get a winch. But, the winch is *after* the SOA and (I think) gears and
locker.

I never did go on that run to Rocker Panel Pass. I was fighting another steering problem back then too. It's a curse or something. Hopefully it will be fixed once and for all next week when the TJ goes in for a knuckle over conversion and a roll cage :) Oh yeah, it needs an alignment as well. I now know why they call it the DEATH wobble.
This should be a good test run of the new steering. Hope you (and I, LOL) can make it.

I would rate the trail as a 3 to 3+ depending on the lines you choose. I have made this run is a bone stock YJ, so it's do-able by the "modification challenged". ;-)

But, the winch is *after* the SOA and (I think) gears and
locker.
