New guy here. Looks like a great site. Think I might just stick arouind. :D
Anyway, I bought a Jeep off of Haulin from this board. I've been an off-roader my whole life but this is my first Jeep. I think I'm really going to like this new money pit I bought. :D

Welcome, I bought my TJ on a whim one day... Had always driven a 3/4 ton PU and my last one was a 4door 2000 chev, lifted, big tires/wheels, the whole stichk ! Anyhow, one Saturday, I just decided I was sick of all the "big truck" issues... Parking, mileage, etc, so I rolled into Darners and cut a deal for my new TJ... All my friends thiught I was crazy... Still do, but that's another story...I still drive a 3/4 ton Chev as a DD (Work requires it) but my Jeep is all I drive on nites/weekends! This group is a great bunch of people and you will find folks at every level/experience/capability! The common denominator seems to be that everyone wants to help and there doesn't seem to be the "attitude" that a lot of organized clubs sem to emit... Enjoy !

Thanks for the welcome. Although my Jeep is fairly nice, there's lots I want to do to it so it will be a fun project.
Yesterday I steam cleaned the suspension and found that the axle vents need help, so that will be today's project.

Welcome. If you have ever heard the song by Tobey Keith "I like this bar" then you will like it here. All kinds of folks, with one thing in common, Jeeps.

Doug,
Where did you get ahold of the steam cleaner... I have been meaning to get mine steam cleaned periodically to get rid of all the grease and whatnot from under my TJ... The garden hose just doen't seem to cut it..

Well, not exactly a real steam clean I guess. What I meant is I went to the do-it-yourself high pressure car wash. Works pretty well. Took most of the grime off, and some paint too.

When I need to clean the engine, I take a can of Gunk with me to the pressure wash place. I typically spend 10-15 mins washing the outside to allow the engine to cool somewhat, then Gunk the engine and undercarriage, wait a few more mins and high-pressure spray it. Works pretty well.
