With the threat of rain the main objective was to get the SYE done (and to hopefully get the Jeep running so I could make it to work tomorrow).

Here's a better pic of the Jeep in the daylight, where it was left off yesterday:

Eric started on the SYE after I got back again from 4 Wheelers for another parts run (for the 3rd day in a row :D):

Geno arrived just as the rain started, we think he brought it with him but they were able to get some work done. Here they get the SYE back in the Jeep:

I started slacking with the pictures since I actully got some hand on with the Jeep today. Eric's pretty sore so I was able to help out. Here's a picture of the flat skid on the Jeep.

Unfortunately when I had this skid done a few years ago, I didn't know enough to have it reinforced better. Geno has an idea on how to fix that and hopefully we can pull it off.

I will be joining them again tomorrow since I don't have the Jeep to drive to work and I will not ride the motorcycle in the rain. I've already called off work unfortunately but I want to help out and get this done in the next day.

What's left to do:

Rear shocks
Reinforcing the skid (if possible)
Rear sway bar links
Brake lines front and rear
Alignment
Rear driveshaft (which can be done next week unless we can get the measurement tomorrow)

Oh, cool pic of the day:

How'd you bribe Geno to work on your Jeep? And you "Let" Eric work on it?

Looking good!

:D

Well Geno was nice enough to help after Eric begged and pleaded. As for "letting" Eric... he finally let me pick up a tool today so I think he's in charge of this one. :D :p

I hope you carry pig pads and peat sorb along with plastic bags to catch all the fluid when it breaks. As a responsible wheeler leaving no trace is what we all need to practice.

Getting those will be the last thing I do after this is all said and done. Have a little faith Hackle, I predict at least a good year with this axle. ;) You've never seen my wheeling style. I may hang out with a "shark" but it doens't mean I wheel like one. ;) :D

Hey! You got a picture of ole "Spike" in there. :)

Yeah; this lift is kicking my butt this week. I feel like that 96 yr old leprican! ;)

You know; I remember a certain outspoken individual telling me I couldn't run 37's on my Dana 30 either. You might want to let my buddy Paul know that after 4 hard years of wheeling with a 35C and 35" tires; that he ought to give it up. ;) After all; he finally broke a stock shaft on Anihilator after 4 yrs. of wheeling. Go figure.........

Why take out the TC? It is not necessary to put in a SYE, just making more work for yourself.

It took me about 1.5 hours to do SYE and 2-Low with it on the vehicle.

Heywood,

It was discussed in the other thread, Day 2. Feel free to read up on it there.
