Here's how she looks before all of this started:

After getting the Jeep there to Eric's, he decided to start on the lower control arms. Well forgetting what rust could do, he had to use many different measures from:

Fire:

to beating the snot out of it:

to taking a chisel to it:

He finally got it off by cutting it. I was gone to pick up one more set of control arms and, brake lines and lunch for the manly man. :p

I got back and Geno had arrived and was just getting the other lower control arm bolt off, he had to cut that sucker off too. The uppers seemed to come off a lot easier. Here they measure out the "new to me" ones:

After getting them installed:

They put the tires on to check out how it's look and to make sure things were pretty well centered:

The last part of the day was spent working on the track bar and bracket:

Overall it was fun to watch the guys play (though it would have been nice to get my hands a little dirty too). Of course once they get going, there is no stopping them, unless you've got some rusty bolts. :D

Tomorrow the rear and hopefully the flat skid and SYE. It may be asking a bit much though if the bolts on the back are just like the ones on the front.

Lastly, friends shouldn't let friends act stupid when there are cameras around. ;) My driver for the day....

May I suggest jack stands rather than the 'block-o-wood' to support the vehicle next time someone crawls underneath it. (picture #6)

Lift/Tires looks good.

Comin' along well!! Certainly going to look much better then before! Are you planning to flat fender?? I noticed the holes in the grill... assuming they are for new lights!

Also, what wheels are those? Size and backspacing?

Turtle!

Look behind Geno in pic number 6. ;)

Turtle,

Flat fender will come too, maybe Thursday. ;) Depends on the boys. :D I decided to go with clear LED's for the signals and have the amber ones ready to go.

As for wheels 35x12.50 on 15x10 rims with 4.5.... I'm having a brain fart on the BS. Might be 5.5, I think that is it, 5.5. Same as Eric.

I believe backspacing is 3-5/8".

The plan here is to get Jamie the biggest bang for the buck. She'll be wide with a nice LCG. The coils are the RE HD 3-1/2" which net a good 4" of lift. Combine this with no flares and a flat fendered front and you get a nice, stable rig with plenty of room to stuff those 35's. We'll be installing a flat TC skid to gain ground clearance combined with a Skid Row engine skid for a smooth transition over the rocks. Jamie already had a 1" MM and body lift.

I had forgotten how fun rust is!!! Thanks for giving a hand; Geno.

3.5 Superflex pieced together but using Eric's HD RE adj. trackbar from his past lift. Sorry for such a crappy pic here:

Better pics will come tomorrow morning when I don't have to play with settings on the camera and night time. :D
