I was out at Table Mesa Road yesterday and took these pictures at the entrance of 6th Day Trail.

It doesn't say you can't go down there, it is just warning you it is not a road.
I suspect they do this so, some un-knowing H2 ( :D ) doesn't try to go down there and get stuck.
This is just a guess.
Under “NOT A ROAD” it says “Motorized and mechanized use prohibited”.
A friend just told me that this is not the normal entrance to 6th Day, although I know a lot of people start the trail there. I hope he is right and the trail is still open...

I'm not familiar with that trail, so forgive me if this is a dumb question....
Does this entrance (normal or not) take you up the wash or across it; and is it typically dry?

yes it is not the normal entrance. maybe people are shortcutting it and they realize that it was not the normal trail entrance

Yes it takes you up the wash (Boulder Creek) and it is normally dry, although it has water in it more often and continues flowing longer than most of the other washes in the area.
