Your right Stu, I said I was sorry. Guess I was having a bad day, but why is it everyone says they can have their own opinions on here but I get hate mail from some of you on mine?????? Again, sorry to start a war, forgive me and lets go jeepin ok?

keeping a trail log, someone wanting stock springs, Linda IDing a t-case, CJ

selling his TJ, a t-case not staying in 4HI, the right carb for a 4.2L
engine, clutch noise problems, something going on over by Globe, FR42 was
run about two weeks back, 4 runs on Terminator if memory serves me correctly
(including some awesome BigIron participation I believe), Bulldog Canyon,
many postings for night runs, heck, I can't remember all of them.....am I

There is also postings of broken Jeeps, carbs, George in search of a FSJ,
George's new TJ, Linda and her various topics...injectors, Rubicon run,
on-board hot water, someone with a roll bar question, regearing and a
lengthy exchange on powertrax and lockright lockers, Len getting rid of the
non-titled Jeep in his back yard....heck, this list keeps going on and on

(most of those topics all came from the last 8 days of deleted mail)

Eric, there are certainly political comments going back and forth, but there
is no way you will convince me that there is not a ton of direct Jeeping

My delete key is about all used up too....I don't care much about XJ

4.2L engines, clutch noise probelms, on-board hot water (sorry Linda)....but
the point is, there is a lot of stuff posted here that may OR may not appeal
to you. That is why they made the delete key! So we ALL learn to use it.

Ok, I see nobody gets my point. I am VERY well aware of whats going on out
there with my land, but lately it seems there's less and less wheeling and
more
and more whining about what politicians are doing to close that land. I
enjoy
wheeling with this club and have met some great people, but my delete key is
worn out! Sorry to offend any of you, I don't mean it except for that one

Your probably right Larry. After all, I would hate to miss out on a run with you, you've been a great jeep bud.

Bill,
I agree, Lower Terminator isn't bad at all.. I read an article were someone took a stock TJ through it with some fancy driving. I think people are just scared of it's name. The white line was the only hair raiser for me and if you pick the right line it's not that hard. I should be there Friday evening with as much stuff as I can drag up to help with.

See ya on the trail,

Well, this is it, I hope!
Need some Jeeps to tow out the rubble. We got a motor and tranny, a front
end and 2 pieces of the front clip, along with some misc. metal pieces here
and there. This week, I'll be taking the trailer up, Hopefully with Ross'
Jeep on the way up, and with the ZJ on the way back.

Once again, I'll try to be up there first, at 5:00 - 6:00 PM. We'll be at it
most of the night I'm sure, so come when you can if you know where it is,
otherwise, plan on meeting at the parking lot at either 5:30, or 7:00 P.M..
I could use 2 people to help load the trailer. This would not require going
on the trail, for those who have no desire to break something, or just want
to help, but don't feel their Jeep or their skill level is up to being on
the trail.

I'll check on a full size or flatbed 4 wheeler for the motor, If you know of
anyone, please ask them. I would recommend they be short wheelbase pickup 4"
lift and 35" tires along with at least a locker. We should have a winch up
there on one of the vehicles. I will be able to spot them through the trail
if needed. I have had a full size F-350 back there, but that was a good
friend I've spotted many times. Get back to me and let me know if you find
someone willing.

Contrary to what seems to be popular belief, this trail isn't that tough.
All the people who have been breaking have been due for some time. I've run
this trail numerous times without incident. When you run a bunch of hard
core trails, sooner or later you break. 9 times out of 10, it's doing
something easy when everyone is watching! If you haven't seen the trail,
don't be too quick to judge. You may find yourself driving it without
failure.

If you AREN'T getting hate mail, then you aren't expressing your opinions
enough. :-) Heck man, I have a subfolder in my inbox just for hate mail!
When I was moderating the IFSJA list I felt slighted if I didn't get at
least one nastygram a day............and until you've been "fired" from a
volunteer position for being too outspoken you haven't really begun to get
hate mail. :-) It's kind of like judging your ability as a manager by how
many times you find "Len Sullivan is a dick" written on the shelves in the
back room.

If you have an opinion and are firm in your convictions, speak up! Some of
the best conversations I've ever had started out with an agreement to
disagree. I've even been known to post overly inflammatory points of view
just to get people to THINK. You should have seen some of the messages I
got a while back when I suggested that all of the rigs and drivers should be
rated by their ability and setup.....and that their rating should be used to
determine what trails they could drive on. Was I wrong? Yes. Did I know
it was wrong when I wrote it? Yes. Did it piss people off? Yes. Did it
make people think about driving responsibly and being more realistic about
their abilities? YES. That was the point of the whole exercise......to get
everyone's attention and make them think about the real issue.

In short, don't let the "hate mail" bother you. Being able to express your
ideas and discuss them with others is what makes this a great list. If
everyone agreed with everybody else all the time, it would be boring.

See ya' at the White Tanks cleanup

Last night I was watching the news on the Western wildfires and the
firefighters were claiming the fires were running hotter and bigger,
reason being the greenies will not let anybody in to thin out the
dead forests area which in turn gives more to burn. Evidently the
firefighter commander was going to bring this up in Washington if I
am remembering correctly to see what could be done to bring in a
happy medium. forests roads?hmm

I have an electrical problem that I have no answer for, thought maybe one of
you, been there done this before.
The engine runs great 99.9% of the time then when crossing and intersection
or just driving down the road the engine up and quits. No warning, no missing
just dies dead. In some cases I can turn the key off and start it right back
up no problems. The radio and accessories continue to work. It will run for a
day or so and then do it again. Some times it will not start, just crank away
and then 10-20 minutes later work just fine. It has died 3 times just sitting
at a red light, not a great position when the darn thing goes red, and I'm
dead. I spent many hours checking all the wiring for a short, but no luck. I
have an MSD install, but not sure why it would be the problem. So before I
start the replacement witch hunt thought I would throw it out to the group.
Thanks for and thoughts.

Bypass the MSD and see if the problem goes away. I had a similiar
problem with a Jacobs unit. If it still contiunes to do it then you
have at least elimiated one possible cause.

"bonehead...throwing punches" What the hell post were you reading??

I agree 100% that the problem with a group this size is people with
skin that's too thin, and too many people who need to lighten up.
Your first post to the group proves the latter and your "bonehead"
post proves the former.

My first post should have just proven the point that sometimes when
you ask a stupid (off topic) question (selling a lamp in a Jeep
group) you're going to get a stupid answer (how much?). If you still
want to make more out of this than I put in, that's your prerogative.
But know from the source, you're fighting imagined demons. I wasn't
throwing punches, I was using a joke to defend a good group of people
from your unsolicted exit remarks.

I stay in this group because I get a lot more value from it, than it
takes from me by having to press 'delete' or deal with the
name-calling. For example, Jim Langdon helped me replace a throw-out
bearing and pilot bushing which cost him a whole evening, while
saving me about $400. Because of that, I feel I owe this group a
whole lot and will do what I can to help it, and defend it. When, or
if I ever decide to leave because of sniping I'll probably just do it
quietly and get on to other things. Something you were unable to do.

You and everyone else are also correct that there's a lot of wasted
bandwidth but "what" is wasted depends on your point of view and what
a specific persons interests are. We all have the right to our
opinions, and we all have the right to our responses when someone
snipes a group we like on their way out of it.

Check your crankshaft position sensor. It seems I have heard these same

Agreed!!! Erin apologized (even had a good point about opinions..) and
everyone else has spoken their peace.

So uhh... My winch is leaking oil (don't worry, it's on a Jeep ;) from the
right side, at the seam next to the drum. It's a Ramsey 9500... I have it
off right now to work on my bumper (Had to modify the ARB Bull Bar to get it
to fit, then rust started to show up) And how I noticed the motor on the
left is loose. I can't seem to find a bolt to tighten it up.

Anyone here a winch expert?

Jason (Beating dead horses always makes me tired...)
