Just checking to see if anybody out there has a line on a 92 or later
4.0 with tranny and computer. Since I swamped my jeep, they will
most likely total it and I'll be buying it back from them. I'm sure
it will be no problem getting the 4 cyl running again, but I figure
now would be a good time for a swap. Thanks for any info.

I took my 93YJ through to the Falls and out through Italian Trap while it
was bone stock, with the original POS Goodyear Wranglers it came with. This
was before I knew better than to 'wheel alone and a friend and I were by
ourselves in my Jeep, we didn't even know where we were at the time. Pick a
line and take it easy and a stock vehicle can make with only minor banging
underneath, can you say...skidplates?, sure I knew you could. ;-)

I desperately want to do another upgrade to my Jeep, but don't really
know where to start, So I was wandering if anybody out there that has
done any type of conversion on their Jeep or know anyone that has,
could give me an E-mail noting their upgrade/Cost and effort.
And what does anyone think about the military wrap WARN Black Diamond
Suspension not the coil over(way too expensive) I saw a full set of
3.5 inch springs for 250 or 300 dollars(just the springs).

Hope that it doesn't rain. We ran Lower Terminator Saturday night
in the rain and that trail become much more difficult. Everything
was slick as you know what. You'd pick a good line, slide sideways
and end up in a screwed line. Yee haw!

In order to suggest ideas for a next upgrade, we need to know what
you've done to your Jeep already and what you plan to do with your
Jeep. Give us some more info.

I just got the permit and combos, so am ready for the run thru Bulldog
Canyon this Saturday, 8/19!

Meet at: Burger King, about 1/8 mi west of Idaho Rd. on Main St. (Old West
Hwy). It's in the big grocery store parking lot on the South-West corner of
the Idaho/Main intersection. Idaho Rd. exit is off of I-60 in Apache
Junction.

When: Meet at BK at 7:00am this Saturday (8/19). Intros, Grab
Croissanwiches and maybe even air down here.

What: Run thru Bulldog Canyon from AJ to Bush Hwy, right near the Blue
Point Bridge. Early start to beat the heat and end with lunch, "beverages"
and a swim down by the river. This should be a pretty easy, but scenic and
fun run.

Please respond via email or call me if you're interested in going. Anyone
is welcome!

Date: Tue Aug 15, 2000 2:40pm
Subject: LU - ACTION ALERT 2 - Sonoran Desert

This is from Terry Heslin.

Outdoor Enthusiasts,

Please take a moment to review the "Action Alert" below from the
Southwest Forest Alliance (SFA) in regard to Air Force management of the
Barry Goldwater Range
in southwest Arizona. It is interesting to note that the alert was
generated by staff from an out of state special interest group. The SFA
takes a decidedly
anti-access position on the management issue. Please note the emphasis
on minimizing roads and banning vehicles because they are "difficult" to
manage--guilty
until proven innocent--in other words. SFA contends that the Air Force
is "...under pressure to open it up to more off-road vehicles and
greater hunting." We
are unable to find evidence of such "pressure".

Hunters and the Game and Fish Department are very concerned about a
proposal to create a huge 3 million acre National Park that would
include Cabeza Prieta
NWR, Barry Goldwater Range, and Organ Pipe NM. National Parks prohibit
hunting and generally strive to minimize mechanized access to the
resources--a 'look but
don't touch' philosophy. We are skeptical about the alleged "pressure"
to open up the range to more vehicles and hunting; the concern is more
one of maintaining the
status quo--reasonable access--rather than creating something that does
not currently exist.

The Game and Fish Department, the Air Force, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service have been engaged in partnerships that are improving conditions
for the Sonoran
Pronghorn, Desert Bighorn Sheep, and other natural/cultural resources in
the region. Creation of a National Park or elimination of access would
pull the rug out from
under those partnerships.

Okay, so I tried the link and my browser is bringing it up, but may be from cached memory :)...try going to ebay.com, then click automotive and pick Jeep as the model...there is only one commando for sale, and it doesn't look like a bad deal except it is in the northeast...
