My roommate is a certified and very good massage therapist. She has a ram1500 that while under warranty had her rack and pinion replaced (used parts per warranty). It is now making noise again and out of warranty. She was wanting to know if there is anyone who would be willing to look at it and maybe help her fix it. She is willing to give you a massage 1-1.5 hour in trade (more as needed based on time put in)....If anyone is interested she is in the north valley near deervalley airport. She has her own table and can come to you if needed. (No happy endings 100% professional)

Just skip the massage. A cold beer and a happy ending will get a lot more accomplished... Jus sayin...

cut off steering rack, replace with steering box and dana 60.
srsly, it's probably the rack mounts or the inner tie rod ends my dakota ate through them like candy back in the day and clunk.

Rack and pinion (steering... I thought used Saginaw box) or Ring and pinion (axle)?
I live up the street, could look at Monday or have her bring to my shop (21st ave / Greenway)

We arent sure exactly what it is...front end makes noise when turning at low speeds. I know she works most of tomorrow but is off Tuesday. Could she bring it by then? You still live just south of greenway parkway?

To narrow the steering down I'm pretty sure the Ram 1500 has rack and pinion ONLY in the 2wd trucks. I could be wrong here. Not sure why we're talking about steering as the only thing I paid attention to in this thread really was the massage part of it.

It is actually a 2002 2wd quad cab with a HEMI....and yes she is a very very good massage therapist.
