I've always wanted to learn how to do some bacic welds and have no idea how. If someone is willing to have a small get-together and show some basics in welding that would be cool!

What's in it for me? :) :) I have a welder and a pile of steel. If you wanna have some real fun we can slice up a Jeep Puberty with the plasma cutter if someone will donate one. :p

I could offer up some beer and pizza for you for the workshop. I've wanted to get some basics on welding too. Or whatever just let me know :D

I use a mig welder almost exclusively and I am afraid that if I showed people how to use one they might tell others how easy it is and then nobody would be impressed by my "skills". :D

So I still think this idea of a welding workshop is a good one. If at any time. Someone decides to put one together. I'd sign up.

I wouldn't mind attending such a workshop...

I thought welding was a point'n'shoot job. Or maybe that was how I learned, never knew there was a "proper" way, I was told "its not how good it looks, just as long as it will hold".

Yeah, my problem is keeping my hand in one place while I flip the mask down. And my *sshole buddy won't ever let me use the auto-darkening mask while he is teaching me how to weld. Bastard :D :D :D

For the record ... "me too" :D
I've been trying to get into the Welding 101 class over at Mesa Community College but it fills up quickly (I've missed it by a couple days both each of the last two sememsters).

I will be signing up for a welding 101 class at the local community college this fall... I believe that the class is every Saturday morning from August thru beginning of December. Its funny that now that I have a master's degree in business and I am back at the community college again :)
