I am starting to look at plasma cutters. Any one have any opinions? I would like to be able to cut 1/2" on occasion but will mostly be used on 1/4" and under.
Right now I'm leaning towards the Hypotherm PowerMax 30 but will consider suggestions.

we got the new tamahawk from lincoln...its an awsome little machine...lightwieght, built in compressor w/ option to use extrenal air. i used it a lot to do my SAS.

down side is that its a brand new design and most shops dont stock consumables for it ( but can order them)..
ours is the 375air..

I have a miller spectrum 650 and have been nothing but happy with it.

I have a small miller. Too small for what you would want, but it runs 115 or 220 so it's pretty versatile, I cut 1/4" with it before, but it's not that good at thick stuff.

I will have to check what my FIL has. I use it a lot on 1/4 and 3/8 but no idea what model it is.

I'm not ready to pull the trigger on this just yet but will keep this in mind. You ship? I'm on the east coast?
