Often in today's society; we as humans concentrate on the negatives of life's experiences. How about starting a thread thanking those who have helped make your 4 wheeling experience a good one? This can be outstanding businesses or individuals.

I'll start with:

Rick Beer/Discount Tire!!! This guy/business works his/their butt off to make sure the customer is happy.

Jason Shields at Redrock 4x4... Another outstanding guy in the Jeep accessory business who gives fair deals and honest advice.

Joe Daro... for answering my every question when I first got into this hobby. Actually; I think he looked forward to my visits as he was always behind bars at Desert Rat! ;) :D

The Rockrats....for inviting me along and popping my cherry on Lower Terminator. :( (This was my first real rock crawling venture with my new Jeep.)

4 Wheeler's Supply... for always having what I need at prices often cheaper than the internet. Excellent advice as well.

Stu for his excellent write-ups which helped guide me in building a worthy rig. Well; he's just a darn good guy to know even though he's short! ;) :D

All the fine folks at TBT for the excellent work and advice. (I couldn't find anyone else to put up with me!) :D

All the great people i've met in the AZVJC....they let me play too. :)

People like Hackle and Sandee who hit the frontlines fighting for our trails. Without these people; we'd have nothing. :)

OK...that was the extent of my holiday cheer. I'll go back to being grumpy now.

Wow where to start?

Thanks to everyone, almost everyone I have met through wheelin' has been a great person to talk jeeps etc.. out

Props out to Hunter for the amazing work! Also, shout out to the JA guys (Matt, bruce, TJ, and david).

In addition veterans like Steve Sample and Lonnie Paugh, those guys have some great experience, stories, and are always willing to help out newbie wheelers!

I suspect he's just a poser with sexy girls and big guns! :D

What a good idea.

Hmmm, gotta think back here where to start....

1. Two guys by the name of Eric and John back in NJ took me on my first ever Pine's run and I got my feet wet in this sport.

2. The "old school" JU crowd from Aug 2000 and before. I lurked there quite a bit before I actually logged on and regeistered. It was a great place to go for info and honest opinions, not the crap that is there today.

3. The "Dirty Dozens" back East. They got me into Paragon and the really difficult stuff. A lot of them like Omar, Flexy, Bumblebee, TealJ, Rod and Grizz were great people to have to show you the ropes on the rocks and offer advice.

4. Stu for that wonderful site and my first ever taste of what AZ had to offer a few years back.

5. OK4WD in Sterwartsville, NJ for helping me put together info on all the mods I hope to one day accomplish on the Jeep. Also for doing some of the current stuff.

6. SexyJeepGirl for inspiring me. She now doing comps back in NJ with her old 90 YJ. Girl knows how to drive and is fun to watch.

7. Last but never least *cough* ERIC *cough* for taking me under your wing, giving me a lot of ideas and showing me what works and what doesn't. For taking me out these past few weeks on all sorts of fun trails and also for putting up what that "motherly" attitude. ;) Without you, I'd be a bit lost in this vast desert. :) Thanks a lot, it's awsome having a friend like you.

EDIT: Stop being grumpy, I'm home now for the next 3 days and we've got some wheeling to plan for!! :D

1) I would like to thank the members of AZVJC that show up in numbers at most of the Land Use meeetings. (although I wish we had more) This makes Sandie and my work easier as we can show that the community cares.
2) My friends in the AZ RockRats who everytime I decide to modify something are always willing to help.
3) Sandie who does more in a week then I do in a month, and whom without we would have lost a lot more then we have.
4) I add in Hunter who has always come through for me and does a lot of work on the BBQ every year.

This could become quite lengthy. To try to thank all the people who have been there for me through the 25 + years I've been doing this. So I'll keep it as short as I possibly can.

#1 without a doubt. Would have to be my dad, for getting me interested in cars at an early age. He helped me build my first car. At the age of 15. 1968 dodge super bee. From there. It just took off. I'm now on jeep #4.

#2 Would have to be the friends I've met through the years. While enjoying all aspects of what offroading has to offer. The younger years. Getting out of the city with my buddies, to go camping someplace that you couldnt get to by conventional vehicles. We just thought that was the coolest thing. Knowing that. The only way anyone could find us. Would be. Either by the same means. Or. Horseback, or dirtbike, or hiking in.

To the more resent years. Where offroading has added an extreme element, to the enjoyment of getting out of the city and hitting the trails. To push your skills and vehicle to your limits for the day. And you just cant wait to see what the next trail will throw at you. Then talking to folks like you all, and others out there throughout the week. About how it went. What there experiences were like, on the same trail. And others listening in to get there juices flowing to go out and hit that trail they have been hearing about.

When it comes to the jeep seen. There's so much I'm thankful for.
The freedom to get out of the city, with my wife. Who loves spending the day with me and others who find this sport so thrilling. The friends you meet along the way. The comeradory that stands out. People always willing to help out where needed. No matter what the circumstances. Whether it's to help a fellow offroader out in need. Or a family stricken by difficulties of an injured or a fallen member of our community. To a newbie who needs the guidence of the experienced folks. (we've all been there at one time). It's these, and so many other reasons. I'm thankful.

And to all the folks that day in and day out. Keep fighting the fight. To keep our land open to us. So that we can continue to enjoy the freedom of getting away from the busy life the city throws at us every day.

I could go on for days on this subject. 25 + years creates alot of memories. But these are just a few of the things. I'm thankful for.
