I just finished up my rear bumper and tire carrier and was wondering if I need to incorporate the third brake light into my set up? I thought that it was a federal law that all vehicles made after some year had to have the third light. I am asking because I need to incorporate it soon before I go to get it poweder coated.

I'm not an authority on it, but I understand that if it came from the factory with a third brake light, then it is supposed to always have one. I'm not sure if its enforced, though.

I was going to do just that. I went to checker and picked up one of those small rectangular LED light modules (about 1X2.5). This should be enough to match the performance of the OEM part.
