My neighbor has a 99 XJ 4.0. It won't start. There are no trouble codes. It has fuel pressure, and it has spark. It has a new crank sensor, coil, and plugs, and the cap, rotor, and wires are in good shape. When a plug is pulled and grounded, we cranked the engine, but the spark was really weak and orange. This all began after it blew a hose and boiled over. Coolant was sprayed all over the engine compartment, but it has had a week to dry out, the plugs, wires, and cap are all bone dry. Any ideas? I've run out.
Thanks,
-Tom

Tom, Do a compression check. 4.0's are quite notorius for blowing head gaskets. If compression checks out ok, then get a "block tester" and do a block test. Its quite possible that if it blew a ead gasket, it might have cracked a head also.

It would still start if the head gasket was blown, wouldn't it?
