What kind of plastic are these made of, steel? Steel is the only thing I have seen that slides on rock, everything else tends to stick and shread. :D

the stuff is the definition of cool!
works even better on skid plates... has become the "thing" almost all the serious rock crawlers are using

HPDE plastic. Read Joe's write up...they will just slide off rocks, without the noise of steel!

Won't rust and they are extremely light.. I believe that the TJ guards weigh about 6 lbs. each...

Can you bolt them to skid pans?

Sure...what skid plate do you want it bolted to? We can cut some custom pieces for you, or anybody.

Any possibility of doing a wrap-around style? I'd like to get rid of the heavy corners I have and replace them with these, but that would leave a bunch of holes and sealer on the back end of the Jeep.

Chris

Unfortunately the 1/4" doesn't wrap around corners...we might be able to put a 90 on it, but I don't think it would look too good...

Dave?

I was thinking of a TBT oil pan skid and maybe a stock gas skid?

Its plastic. Can't you just heat it and wrap it?

I am pretty sure we could.... Do you have the TBT skid off the Jeep? Just need to see how much clearance is on the gas tank skid...

Either white or black...I have a set of white ready to go. FlexyXJ has white on white, and they look pretty good.

I'm thinking that Chris' suggestion is a good one. Make a longer unit, bolt on the front half to the vehicle and then heat (from a distance with a propane torch so you don't melt the finish and FROM THE INSIDE part that faces the vehicle) apply pressure as you heat. I'll bet you can get a pretty perfect fit.

Sorry, we can't get my message notification to work or I would have replied by now.

How much do you think bent corners would cost?

I'm not ready for them yet. I'm working on spending every penny I have on building my plane. Soon though, I hope.

Hey Mike,
How much are you getting for the TJ wraparound corners? And, do they go all the way to the door frame like the Poison Spyder Crusher Corners?

Bruzer,

Look at these pics:

I don't have pics of mine yet, but I just got them done. They look really good. :) Well that is until Eric took his fingernails to them  I liked the idea of being able to brush my hair using the corners as a mirror. :p

Actually, I'll be scruffing them up son, the shine just doesn't match my extremely dirty/rusty Heep. :D

That's perfect, except mine doesn't have fender flares anymore and I'd have to bring BRUZR down so they can match (read: improve upon) my fender cuts. :D

Can you guys fab up some sort of plastic rocker protection that would join up flush with the wrap around rear corner guards?

We sure could, but to be honest with you, I would not use plastic for rocker protection. Your rockers are your most vulnerable piece of sheet metal, and to really protect it, use steel.

That's what I figured. I was just curious because from the photos that I've seen of the rear corner guards, it looks like everyones rock-sliders overlap onto the plastic. That's what made me curious if you could do some custom flush mount stuff. Thanks for the input :D

The plastic flush mounts to the rocker gaurds...they already had rocker guards, and we just cut them flush.

That is the only downfall of these, there are tons of different rocker guards, and I doubt more than a few line up or get installed the same way. So each one we cut has been custom. Not a big deal to make them custom, but profit is not there because we want to keep the cost down....
