WANTED,,,, A GOOD BELL HOUSING for a 2.5 with a AX15!! turns out the clutch is so-so and useable but the bellhousing has a crack a mile(5") long at the block end/top pass side. does anybody got the bellhousing available? or maybe the whole trans available at a decent price! turns out the trans had frickin gear oil runnin thru it too! hmmmmm pretty shabby work somebody did here on this thing! thx dave 4806715985

I thought the AX-15 could run 75W-90 gear oil? Hmmm.....I will have to check into that.

I think mine runs gear oil can't remember

I had a front cover crack and a shop up the street welded it might be able to get it welded.

Clear as mud. I see Sychromesh, Redline MTL, and 70W90 GL-3.

Just looked it up mine takes gear oil...
what year does the 2.5 have a ax15?
I was jumping around years trying to find it.

you dont have an ax15. Only the 4.0's had that. You have an AX5.

Dave, call Todd, he might be able to weld the housing. They're aluminum though and I don't remember if he has a tig set up or not.

A buddy of mine had his Transmission housing welded on his jeep. It just ended up cracking again. If there is a crack there in the first place, its under some sort of load. Unless you can get a really good weld with preheat and controlled cooling, I doubt its going to hold up. Seems that half price day at the pick and pull may end up costing about the same as having it welded.

That's a good point. Have you checked your tranny and tcase mounts for wear? That motor isn't putting out a lot of torque, lol. Something made it crack.

I will have an AX5 available after i swap in my auto....but that date has yet to be determined.

ok its all done! turns out they welded the dang thing back together and randy,,,,, i did check the mounts when it was sittin on the shop floor! they both looked fine! i think its from when that idiot i got it from demolished the oil pan tells me he demolished the bell housing too! lol! THX EVERYONE FOR THE COMMENTS! Trust me ,,,, my ears were listining!
