I used to be into 3 wheelsers and bikes years ago about 21 to be exact. I wanted to get back into owning a motorcycle so I recently purchased a 1982 Honda XL 185S. Its all there a few things that need some love. Last night I installed a new front tube,New battery, front brake lever and somewhat fixed the odometer. The spedo still does not work so not sure it ever will. I will post up some pics tomorrow. My imediate plans are a new seat and right side panel no real plans for a restore. I am looking to buy a Yamaha Tw200 later next year and I will likely sell this one.

I believe he's planning on adding a side car to it and compete with it in Cannonball run. I believe he's also got a leather "helmet" and goggles as well to go with it.

Jason,
FWIW: when you go to look at helmets, the question you should be asking yourself is this... When ... NOT if...I fall and smack my head, how much protection do I think my head/brain is worth???

Use that AND proper fitment as your guide for helmet selection, as opposed to pricing...;)

WHICH ...BTW... does NOT mean it has to be the most expensive, as there are literally TONS of helmet which will properly fit, AND meet or exceed Snell ratings, but there is a good bet the cheapest ones won't match the performance ratings of the mid-(and up) priced units...;)

Jason typically rides bikes without seats. Though this is a motorcycle. :D

dude, go to the fabric store and buy some vinyl. stretch it around the seat and staple it. you can make your seat look a lot less redneck(which i don't have a problem with) for less than $10. i bought a yard to do my daughter's quad seat and used less than 1/2. i bet that roll of gorilla tape cost more than a 1/2 yard of vinyl.

I have no plans of keeping this bike long, so I may replace the seat cover with a aftermarket repro. The Oem's are no longer in production.
