A friend is selling a Dana 30 from a TJ. It has a high steer system, ARB, and alloy axel shafts with 30 splines. She is asking $800.00 for it. I'm not positive on the gear ratio but I think it's 4.11. She bought it a few years back and was going to install it in her TJ but decided against it. As she may be selling her Jeep.

I'll give her $400. Not being a smart *** either. But a Used Axle and Locker I think that is fair. Sorry if she paid more than that.

1500 in parts between locker, axles and high steer and you think it is only worth 400.00?

I'm with you Dean, easily worth the $800 she wants for it....

I got $750 last month for the same axle with the STOCK non alloy 27spline axle shafts and an ARB. It's certainly worth $800, those 30 spline alloy shafts aren't cheap., though Jeep parts are slow to move these days.

$1500 thats a low number as well, arb and the axles alone are almost there without any type of install or high steer..

youre a moron.

Wow...

Thanks d!ckhead.

Sure it would cost a fortune to build that axel, and it might be worth $600-$800 to the right person, but E-bay all those used parts and you'll be lucky if you get $600. $400 seemed reasonable considering 4:10 are worthless to me and will require a set of gears as well as minor rebuild. We are talking about a used axle that was probably pulled for the same reason I don't want to pay that much for it.

If i was going to spend upwards of $800 I wouldn't buy a 30. I'm not one and neither are most of the serious guys on this board inclined to spend $1500 to build one either. So what's with the hostility? For a few hundred more you could shorten a 60 or build a hybrid 9". But what do I know...

no problem. Just pointing out the obvious.

you couldn't even come close to building a 60 or hybrid 9" for a "few hundred more" over $1500. you'd be somewhere in the ballpark of 4k(prob more) said and done.

That arb would be over $600 by it self on ebay! again, you are a moron. This axle is a steal even with the price of a regear. If you dont think so then shut your mouth and let somebody else buy it.
