Well, tomorrow bright and early, I'm going to attempt to get my exhaust leak taken care of once and for all... I went to the tool store at lunch and bought a reverse drill bit, a stud extractor (The spiral cone shaped drill bit thingy...), and a can of PB Blaster. I've got a friend coming over with his angle drill and we're going to try and do this with the head on the Jeep. We'll drill it out with the reverse bit and hopefully it will come out when I do that, if not, I'll use the extractor bit by hand (and wrench).

If all goes well and fairly quickly, I'll be putting on my LED tail lights and doing a slight mod to the muffler... It sits too far back and hits the lower control arm mount on the frame when I first take off from a stop, so I'm gonna cut off about 2" from the front pipe on it and move it forward.

If anyone has any tips on the stud extraction, let me hear it. I'm really not looking forward to it, because it's the stud closest to the firewall.

I'll let you all know how it goes.

Guess that means I gotta get my lazy azz in the garage this weekend for the plate? Should have it done Sunday (I am relaxing on Saturday) and shipped out Monday.

Sweet...Like I said, let me know what I owe you.

PS- Did you get the drawing?

Well, we couldn't get the snapped stud out... When we took the intake and the axhaust off, however, we found that the front exhaust stud was being held in with a helicoil...So, here's my next question...

Anyone know a good place to buy a rebuilt/remanufactured head? I don't want to mess with this one anymore than I already have. I need to find a place and have been searching the internet, but to no avail. I want to get this taken care of ASAP.

BRUZR is a 97 TJ with a 2.5l (4cyl) with only 57,000 miles on the odometer. I bought it used with about 40,000 miles on it, so the troubles with this head started early in it's life.

TIA,
