I have been following all those posts for awhile now about cages, weights, trail permits, regulations, saftey stuff, tires and axles, and where you cant go and can go, and the hows-it-gonna-be.

I have read the emails about Sandee trying to find a happy balance between everything. Our rights and their rules. And more or less, the over all tone I see is people *****in at her becuase they dont like what they hear.

Well to be blunt, I think its buncha f#@$in bull****.

If it were up to Sandee, everything would be open all the time. This woman has been wheeling long before some of us were even born. Her whole family has. Hell, it wouldnt surprise me to find out if Todd was conceived in a Jeep.

But, yet between the good and the bad, it seems the over all mood is for people to get pissed at her for something she is trying to do. NO ONE, in this state, has fought harder for OUR rights than SANDEE. She is trying to desperataly find a middle ground so we can keep our trails.....

But yet if someone doesnt like what she is doing, she has to defend herself, and that just pisses me off. She doesnt want it this way. Rules suck. Requirements blows. But ya know what? Its a new world and that the way its going to be. Deal with it. We need to keep our sport going and rules and requirements are goig to be the norm. Accept it or sell your jeep and buy Harley.
The sport of 4wheeling is only go bigger, and with that, we have to have rules and laws. WE need Sandee to figth for us and attacking her is bull****. She spends enough time fighting for us against them.. Dont make her have to spend more time defending herself to us.

You got a problem, take it to the State. You dont like the BLM, call ole' Frisco and tell him so. You dont like the requirements? Write a freakin lettter to some one who deserves it. You think you got a better idea? Step up and sacrafice your time and give it a whack. I know she can use all the help she can get.. Sandee McCullen doesnt deserve it. She should not have to defend her actions to us... She desrves alot more respect and Thank You's then she gets.
So with that....
Thank you Sandee... I know becuase of your efforts, we still have trails open to us, places to go, and more room for our sport to enjoy.

Here is the soap box back.... I dont like being up here.

Agreed....

Think of it this way, Sandee puts more time into her efforts than most of us do at work. In fact, I would make a bet that her work IS fighting for OUR cause.

Thank you Sandee.

So Todd, were you conceived in a Jeep?? :D

John,
I think you said what I've been thinking for a LOOOONG time... Hell, it wouldn't surprise me that the very same people that B!tch at Sandee are the same people who go out and give us all a bad name... Why else would they act the way they do towards Sandee? If they don't respect Sandee and actually see all she is trying to do for us, how can they possibly respect the land?

:Stepping down and passing the soap box: NEXT!!!

Thank you so much, Sandee...

I have been involved in fighting the fight for several years my self. It IS a thankless job. Those of you who have thrown yourself into this never ending quest. Know what I mean. I dont think any of us get involved for a pat on the back. We do it because we love the sport and freedom to enjoy the time away from the city, passionitely. And refuse to let it die. But having folks remind you from time to time, just how much you efforts are appreciated, sure helps you to refocus when you feel yourself slowing down.

Dont slow down Sandee. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. Even if we forget to remind you of it.

Thank you, and all the rest of you, who work to make a difference.

Where's that da*n box......Oh there it is...ahem (stepping onto the box)

Sandee is one of the MOST steadfast fighters for this sport. The way she has been getting drilled, you might think that she was the one who thought this up....Not so. She is spending her time and efforts for US. Period. I guess you can rag on her, if it will make you feel better, but is will just make the people who know better think you are an arse. To be dead honest, I was not all that involved in land use issues untill I realized just how bad it really is....If you non-believers (like I used to be) just step outside of the circle and look in, you too will see it. Just open your eyes. With that sandee, let me take the time to thank you so wholeheartedly about all you have done for the OHV community, its a thankless job, But hopefully the "thanks" will outweigh the others.....

THANKS are not required................ I do what I can to keep our lands and access open to ALL OHV recreationists. I truly want my children and grandchildren to be able to continue exploring the back country and experiencing the "challenge" of our sport.

I admit the "pounding" from our own is defeating now and then but the continuing support from my friends, my husband and my son's makes all the bashing worth the results.

You are all very special to me and it must show because many times in meetings with the agencies comments are made referencing me being "MOM to all OHV". THAT I do take as a compliment................ to have such special friends is a true value and compliment that I wouldn't change for anything.

MY "THANKS" to all of you!................. besides, I HATE to lose! :) :) :)

I was asked to post this comment with the hopes someone might "learn" from others mistakes or mishaps.............. Take care all, Sandee

"God Sandee, so sorry to hear about Dennis and Shane. What a ghastly accident.

As to the whiners--they seem to be of the mentality, that nothing can every happen to them or their vehicle. I can list so many instances of rollovers happening so quickly that the driver never knew how it happened! I've seen it occur quite a few times, not to mention those accidents you hear about. Not too long ago, on quite a technical trail, the guy in front of me was momentarily distracted, hit a rock the wrong way, and was instantaneously on his rollbar top. No one was hurt. Within a half hour the fellow behind me did the same thing and went over on his side - again, no one hurt but he did break a driveshaft. Rodney is a perfect example of a superb and very experienced four-wheeler, who hit "the Launch Pad" the wrong way--down and over he went. (Sandee's note to this: One of our own AZVJC members Gary Maclaren did the same thing. He is a very experienced and safe driver but he did exactly the same thing on the Launch Pad)

When I had my accident (7+ years ago), I didn't have my full harness on, DUH! It was on the highway, very cold, snowing, so I was driving cautiously, hit black ice, almost had my Jeep under control, but lost it. That's the last I remember. Phil was behind me and said the Jeep flipped and rolled three times at 50 m.p.h., demolished the hard top, the body, a bit of frame damage, crushed the radiator and a few other parts - BUT, the full roll cage saved my life!!!!!!!! If I had had the full harness on, it more than likely would have saved me from the severe injuries I sustained. Also, we always tie everything down in the Jeep, but didn't do it this trip, another DUH!--everything flew everywhere with a lot of hard stuff hitting me on the head - Oops! Anyway, Jeep and learn!

It's such a shame that so many wheelers have no idea of the many enemies of our sport--those who are fighting tooth and nail to get motorized access to all public lands and national forests CLOSED, unfortunately with great success! For heaven's sake, the extremists have almost eliminated ranching and are even attempting to eliminate horse back riding and pack animals from trails--but, it's okay for hikers to continue their sport! The BILLIONS of dollars generated from corporations and trust funds to promote and support the anti-access groups is unbelievable. This, one never sees in the news! Thank God for you and for people similar to you who recognize what is happening to our country and are brave enough to try and buck the "system" and who have the guts to fight tooth and nail for our constitutional rights!

There are too many whiners out there, who really enjoy "whining," love to hear themselves talk, but NEVER bother to educate themselves about the facts, nor do they ever offer to help with letter writing campaigns regarding access issues!!!!! I'm still p----d off, that you had such a low response from folks over your last request for letters to the BLM re: this very issue.

Enough of a rant.
Hugs, Sandee dear, always know that you're appreciated by so many--those of us who really care!
Joan"
